Just to be perfectly clear and since there is little nuance here: I am not defending that. But if Bezos-types tout the amount of work hours a new tech will save, they talk not about workers having to do less, they talk about saving on labor costs / paying people less.

I have a friend who was just laid off from Amazon after 11 years there. I have heard many stories. I can assure you that Bezos has no interest in ANYONE working only three days a week. Except maybe himself.
