Hubby and i JUST got Fallout 76, and I'm actually glad we waited , its so dead, we only have each other to compete with . but its not really a competition if you share your harvest. its so much fun. Thought recently THAT game feels foreboding AF, if one compares current RL to the game.

My problem is I cannot stop replaying Ori, Hollow Knight, Max Payne 3, Faxanadu, Super Metroid, Halo games, and games I know I like. I should play new games but honestly after watching the HL2 documentary I probably have to play that again too for how many times now I don't know.

I had to stop hunting trophies and achievements and just focus on enjoying and finishing the game without the completion aspect hindering me. I began to enjoy and finish a lot of my backlog after that.

I am part way through: The Witcher - 5% Cyberpunk - 50% SW Outlaws - 30% " " Squadrons - 15% " " Battlefront - 10% " " Fallen Order - 75% Mass Effect #1 - 10% RDR2 - 15% Last of Us - 75% Fallout: New Vegas - 5% GTA-V - 25% ... and I'm currently wasting time on social media. 🫤

It's really tough, especially when there's multiple games you enjoy and have to decide, like which one will I invest my day into today, and sometimes, while you play one, you really wanna play another!

EVERY? even that one furry hitler game on steam?😂 I mean cant blame you...i cant claim that i wouldnt atleast be interested to see what certain games are about even if i'm gonna dislike them

They estimate there are 5 million video games out there. Life expectancy is about 670k hours. So if you play each game for only 1 minute, you'll only use up about 12% of your lifetime. Totally doable (barring costs and download time.) ...What, you want to actually experience each game?

I’ve got a backlog of games I’ve deemed the “essentials” I e missed from each year starting with the NES up to the PS2 and am going through them by release order. Even with that number whittled down to just the “best” ones I’m still only on 1998 after a few years. This is with full time work and Uni

I will never understand this love affair with CRTs y’all have. I’ve been gaming since the mid 80s and spent my fair share of time on CRTs and I’ve compared really good CRTs against modern OLEDs and I prefer the OLED every time…

that seems to be the thing they think makes them look better, even though have have far worse colors, pixelation, terrible contrast... some of the good ones looked pretty good but it's like a few ot the super high end ones made in the last days of CRTs and they cost a fortune for those models now.

Something about how older games were made with them in mind or something. The pixels and textures looked much more detailed when they had the old crt look to em. But I barely remember playing on those.

Not every game is good or worth your time. You might find some hidden gem but unless it is some brand new game that is not very possible unless you just don’t go on the internet.

Why not? Cost? Platform? Not finding the thing that can scratch that itch? Can we help by suggesting anything? Sorry for all the questions! 🫂

I’m beyond help. I’ve played games with other ppl in them for years. If there aren’t ppl around that try to kill me and destroy everything I’ve been grinding for - then it’s no fun! I call it the piñata syndrome: unable to enjoy building something that won’t be destroyed by a 10y old 10 min later..

I suffer from massive game ADHD combined with FOMO. I have more games than I could ever play in many lifetimes, yet I keep buying new ones. I genuinely love games as an art form and entertainment, so it is worth it to me. I just wish I had more time to play everything/

It's not fair. Though one of the best decisions I ever did make was to quit multiplayer games cause they just eat up time and never end. Exceptions for story expansions in MMO's cause that ends and fighting games cause improving and learning in those is a great feeling.

The problem is I have sufficient hours but can often waste so many hours on deciding to play a game that I run out of hours to play a game. In fact the same goes for everything except audiobooks, because I listen to those while I'm doing almost anything else.

Welcome to real life, but I know how it feels. You get older there is more time shared with work, family, friends and game time becomes limited. Still every 2 weeks I take a full day to enjoy myself with gaming. But also am happy to find atleast a hour of game time during the week.
