single player knockout tours are beating my fucking ass. it's easy enough to get second or third place but there's always one cheating ass npc who pulls like 1/5 of a lap ahead of everyone else and stays there but god forbid you get a lead or the red shell storm is upon you

not everything needs to be a huge convention okay it's cool that right now when you go it's all weird nerds it's chill and fun and accessible if people are interested. the main appeal is the broadcast the in person event is just laid back fun

it feels like all the cool events ive only just started going to are becoming these big monster events now. gdq is really fun in person precisely because it's a laid back experience. and so much of the stuff that makes it cool like the game rentals and free play arcade would not work at all at scale
