I don’t normally do this: If you’re an archivist or metadata sicko who is doing working to preserve/collect/organize TTRPG materials and/or Actual Play & you’ll be at PAXU, let me know. If there’s already something brewing I don’t need to be involved unless it’s useful. But it needs to be there.

Alas, this year Origins and Gen Con were the only two conventions I could swing - PAXU nearly happened but my con buddy couldn't make it and I was getting tight on vacation at the library where I work.

Library systems guy, very into metadata, and definitely looking at ways of collecting/organizing/preserving TTRPG materials ... but no way I can make it to PAXU. I am very interested in what people are doing on this front, though.

To be clear: there’s folks doing this work with this expertise! There’s folks (like me) who can consult on projects because we know BOTH database architecture AND what might be useful for controlled vocabulary. We don’t lack for that end. We lack awareness of their work & how to help.

Probably not gonna be at PAXU, but I do some cataloging to keep track of my ever growing collection of indie rpgs. My library degree does help with the original cataloging I have to do on A LOT of the books. My metadata is severely lacking but I do have some!
