Ben and I have been watching a LOT of DS9 the past couple days and I’ve come to the conclusion that my favorite character is Gowron’s Eyes.

The Klingons are great when you realize they're not really a warrior race as much as they are a bunch of theater people with knives

If I'm remembering my beta canon right, there was *generally* a truce between warring houses at the theater, but during a production the leading lady actually killed her opposite on stage, and it lead to a week of riots in the capitol.

Oh, come on, they had riots in Dublin for *multiple* different plays and that was just about the content (and the honor of the man who died in the Easter Rising)! Surely the Klingons can top that.

That was why they wanted to blow up the anomaly. If it made them sing Klingon opera, that would be honorable. But boy-band performances, complete with choreography??? (That was such a great episode.)

I love that DS9 episode where they splice in bits the original tribbles episode and there are “original” Klingons sat at a table. Julian says to Worf, “Those are Klingons? What HAPPENED?” And Worf says, “We do not like to speak of it”

And then Enterprise was like "hey you know how DS9 perfectly handled the inconsistency in makeup effects between 30 years? How about we go deep up our asses and ram fucking Soong into it. Then keep going back to the same well in Picard too"

it's great to give the audience some freedom. There was an event & anything they can come up with can be better than whatever badly shoehorned in explanation the show writers come up with

Learning all about Klingon culture from worf then slowly realising worf doesn't know shit about Klingon culture and is essentially a Klingon weeb is maybe my faviourte bit of story telling in star trek.

Worf's wedding is legit one of the most goofy and delightful episodes. If only human weddings could be about reenacting killing all the gods with your babe.
