I’ll be celebrating my BIRTHDAY by selling art at the @hollywoodtheatre.org Dawn of the Dead pop up market by Mall Rats on the 28th! Come see a classic zombie film remake with a lounge cover of Down With the Sickness and buy some local creepy and movie themed art!!!

I saw an thing where one of the people that worked on the movie said they wanted to evoke the scary feeling of unexpected & serious consequences that they saw in 1980s dark fantasy movies growing up & yep, yep you did it. I just watched a child do a murder. That's gonna be a kid's Artax Moment.

The dog is in daycare and I got some time to kill before I see a movie: I'm gonna see what Spirit Halloween is like the week of Halloween wish me luck

I went to Spirit three times this season and I didn’t buy the Vox mask OR the Hitchhiking Ghost masks and I feel that is a huge win for me and my self control.

Real talk I don’t like most primates that are bigger than a howler monkey but it’s more of a “no thank you, I’m good” reaction. They scare me in that way where I’m happy to just not be near them. I hope they’re happy. I’m good over here.

Got to go to a furry Halloween art market held in an entertainment storage warehouse today and test drive my costume for the first time! It was a hit!

Thinking about what I can scrounge up for Halloween using the half-finished Vox cosplay I was working on before I broke my arm

I was going to go to bed but then I was consumed with the need to find out what tetrapod is the least related to humans. Like we all know bonobos and chimps are our closest living relatives, but what land vertebrate is our most distant living relative??

It’s amphibians. In hindsight that feels obvious but for some reason I always think of birds as being the most removed from mammals. But no, frogs and olms and shit are far more alien to humans.

“Why did you limit it to tetrapods and not all animals” because then we gotta go into the ocean where shit is extra weird and I already know that shit might as well be aliens.

Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

DS9 posting: absolutely wild that the O’Brien’s solution to “our daughter was left for 10 years by herself in the wilderness due to time portal shenanigans and now she is feral and we can’t communicate” is “throw her back into the time portal”

Sisko: we can take her to a specialized facility that can help her. The O’Briens: and let a stranger take care of her and not us? NO. We will put her back where she came from, the deserted planet 300 years in the past where she will have contact with not a single other person, including us.

DS9 posting: My favorite DS9 episodes are the Ferengi episodes or the episodes where Jeffery Combs gets to be a little wormy piece of shit, so you can imagine how much I am enjoying the Acting Grand Nagus Brunt storyline.

DS9 plot: Moogie is incapacitated, who's gonna convince the head of Sluggo Cola to back the Grand Nagus' attempt to legalize women's rights on Ferengenar? Bashir: Finally, my chance to give Quark a boob job.

Ben’s playing a game called Fort Solis and so far the best way I can describe it is “Firewatch but creepy and on Mars” and I like it. Also the main character is voiced by Arthur Morgan.

Every weekend I buy groceries and most weekends I get a turkey and brie sando at the deli and give a little to Tali and EVERY WEEKEND she Waits and Wants.

The local homecoming parade is happening like a block from my house so I’m checking it out and I participated in SO many parades as a kid that it’s very surreal being on the other side of one.

I’ve also been removed from high school for long enough that I had forgotten how young high schoolers are my god these teenagers are just babies.

Also strange: some horses went by but it’s because the high school has an equestrian club and not because some people just wanted to ride their horses in the parade.

Comics Posting: in theory the shading/finishing step should be the fastest step in the comic making process because it physically takes the least amount of time but getting myself to do it is like pulling teeth I would rather do ANYTHING else.

Pencils/layouts is the hardest step mentally, inking and flatting is nice because you got a job laid out in front of you and you just gotta do it, shading/finishing I’m mentally checked out and wanna be DONE and it takes all day because I keep looking at instagram reels instead of working.

Part of me feels bad that I don’t have the motivation to dress my house up for Halloween but then I remember that I just healed a broken arm and just sprained an ankle, I’m lucky to be living to my birthday next week, I can skip a year of house decorating.
