if you suffer from motion sickness with first-person games, please try one of our "motion reduction overlays" in Big Walk — crosshair, frame, or both. this is experimental, but we really want to improve this accessibility issue. give it a bit of time (if you can) then report back!! here's "both":

I played with them on last night, having these made it possible for me to play the game! Got motion sick immediately when I started, but after turning these on I was able to play for the rest of the night!

By chance do y’all have an FAQ page specifically on guidance for people who suffer motion sickness? Would love to link it to friends who struggle with it and convince them to join me on a walk. (And a blog post on how y’all came up with the overlays would be sick 😎)

Still had some issues with motion sickness unfortunately. Having a setting to turn off object/player bobbing would be wonderful. And others have recommended or suggested a 3rd person option as well.

i'll ask directly since i've been having a bit of motion sickness problems with the game as well, is there a technical reason why NS2 users can't adjust the FOV? (the Graphics tab which has it is entirely missing; which i get for quality settings and the like but i wish i could set FOV nonetheless)

ok, so, switch 2 performance is already rather challenging, and increasing the FOV has a meaningfully negative impact on performance. we’ll keep looking at all of this!

Bobbing is what screws things up for me. My issues largely stem from movement that I can’t anticipate. (So most racing games = fine. FPS where the camera bounces = very much not fine.)

I tried this out and it helped a bit I think, but I was done for after about 30 minutes and nauseous the rest of the night. The ability to turn off bobbing would go a long way if that's possible. I need to mess around with FOV more to see if I can find a "good" setting for me.

I can never figure out what will trigger motion sickness. Subnautica, Overwatch, Doom, Horizon zero Dawn and most games: no problem. Edith Finch, Obduction, a few others: *big* problems.
