i have a couple more ideas for solitaires to add (freecell? full-size spider? depends on my scrolling ability) — for now, though, i am more than comfortable calling this the launch version. i'll probably still have to do a small post-launch bug patch though hahah it's out in catalog this TUESDAY!!

deleted my reddit* account and it's probably the best i've felt in a while *i mainly only used it for the playdate subreddit — answering questions and plugging my new games and the like; but it's turned into such a reciprocal AI slop factory that it's been such a downer to even look at nowadays

i dunno theres something freeing about the realization that you really can just. Decide To Stop Engaging with things that make you feel awful. nobody was forcing me to go on there and i dunno why it took a special synapse firing in my brain for me to go "wait its kind of awesome to just Not do that"

this year has been, for me, one of realizing that community isn't Where you make it, but who you make it with — the café's been a large part of this for me; i felt super isolated for a while until i realized there are just like, a fuckton of people who feel the same exact way? it's really inspiring!

my #playdate klondike game is out in a couple weeks! here's a bunch of card back designs that i made just for this game. i tried to span the gamut from 'simple patterns' to 'fun objects' to 'deep cuts' (you'll also be able to create and import your own custom card art as well; front and back!)

after the whole panic DDoS thing my playdate reset my local games cache for like the third or fourth time. tonight i spent the entire evening clearing all the games from the download queue, removing ones that were taking up storage, and re-sorting my folders; and the entire time i was feelin' like:

you can just turn off automatic game downloads, to stop the playdate from killing its battery and storage trying to re-download all its games on its own in sleep; but i want the automatic downloads for season three in a couple days, so i have to go through the trouble of de-queueing it myself.

i have a LOT of words i could use to complain about this entire situation and how i wish there were more buttons and batch actions and a more responsive game library and uuugh; but it's 10:30p and i should be getting to bed because i've actually got my sleep schedule on the reg for once. S3 hype! 🤟

when the playdate's local cache gets corrupted, any game not installed on the system suddenly becomes "NEW!". and the ONLY way to clear them from the dl queue is to wait upwards of 5–60 minutes for each game to completely download & install, then go uninstall it because you don't actually want it.
