Tom Emmer on Republicans trailing Dems by 8 points in the generic ballot: "Right now there are great things happening in our economy. Nobody wants to talk about 78 cent eggs, nobody wants to talk about milk that's under $2. No no. They want to focus on gas prices."

And there are occasional inventory clear out sales of sub-80 cent dozen eggs (Google found a few recent ones, eg [sic] in Ontario NY last April) but again you have to know about it.

It’s not hard to see how congress people can get detached from the reality of normal people since they aren’t actually going to a grocery store themselves and are largely wealthy, but that is precisely why they should be term limited both in congress and on SCOTUS.

So, when one says 'milk', they generally mean a gallon of milk. But, at my local grocery store (not in Emmer's district, thank God, but the one next door), these are the prices I'm seeing. Even a half-gallon of milk is way more than $2!

it is insane that these people are simply never called out on their lies. show me a store where you can buy both 78 cent eggs and 2 dollar milk. I want to get in the car and put you in the passenger seat and we will go together so you can show me, tom.

Go shopping with a 20 dollar bill and see how far you get. Now you took SAP program from 40 million helpless Americans and trump scams Americans for billions. Remove the rats Vote Democrat!! Save America Act Remove the rats Save AmericaAct Vote Democrat !!

Show me you don’t go grocery shopping EVER. Eggs are sold by the dozen & the cheapest I found near me are $1.49. Milk is bought by the gallon & the cheapest $2.77. If he had any brain he’d pick things not easily proven wrong showing he’s a LIAR. 🤥

Is Tom Emmer dying or is it just his ridiculous rhetoric? bsky.app/profile/atru...

Tom Emmer on Republicans trailing Dems by 8 points in the generic ballot: "Right now there are great things happening in our economy. Nobody wants to talk about 78 cent eggs, nobody wants to talk about milk that's under $2. No no. They want to focus on gas prices."

78 cents for a dozen eggs or 78 cents per egg equaling $9.36? These people are absolutely and completely content with pulling sh*t out of the air and calling it a fact. Must be nice to be convinced there will be no consequences to actions that affect millions of people.

Nobody wants to talk about the Easter Bunny laying eggs all over the place. Nobody wants to talk about the Tooth Fairy giving Americans with missing teeth money.

The national average price for a dozen Grade A large eggs is $2.14 according to recent U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. The national average cost of a gallon of fresh whole milk in the U.S. is $4.32, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. I call Bull Sh*t on Tom Emmer!

You can live without eggs and milk if you have to. Where I live there’s no living without a car. Public transportation doesn’t exist. Not to mention one gallon of gas is more than eggs or milk

Everything that any Republican says can always be assumed to be a blatant lie, because all Republicans do is blatantly lie. There are no 78 cent eggs, unless it's one egg, and there is no milk under $2, unless it's a quart of milk.

Tom Emmer doesn’t want to talk about how two of his constituents were tragically murdered on the streets of Minneapolis by ICE and Border Patrol agents. He has not called for an investigation into this egregious use of government power and overreach.

I’m in South Carolina, a state with a lower than the national average cost of living. I shop at a Food Lion near my house. I just checked and as I am writing this, a dozen large store brand eggs are $1.49, and a gallon of store brand whole milk is $2.69.

I wonder what year he thinks he's in right now, and how long ago he set foot in a grocery store? Must have been quite a while, if he thinks this is even a remotely believable lie. Certainly not the worst part, but the sheer absurdity if all these weirdos is just astounding.

That’s because, unless someone has figured out magical teleportation, gasoline is still requisite for every single logistical facet of egg acquisition. I still either pay for gas to go to the store to purchase eggs, or I pay an increased delivery fee to have eggs delivered to me. You fucking twat.

I just checked the local Walmart. You can get 6 eggs for 96 cents, and a pint of milk for $1.50. That was the only way you could get close to Emmer’s claim. Is that a great thing?

Do all of these morons live under a rock. Screw eggs & milk. How about starting wars unprovoked, murdering people in international waters, pulling support from Ukraine, aligning USA with Russia, insulting allies, threatening Greenland, Canada, trade wars etc The whole list could fill 50 posts

I don't buy many eggs, and no milk, or beef. Funny how much everything else costs, though. My grocery bills are higher then they have ever been before. Also, the cars you put gas in are bigly more expensive than ever, too. Explain that, jackass.

Where is he getting his groceries? Eggs here in central Ohio are $2 a dozen and milk is $2.59 a half gallon! Bread is $3 a loaf(nothing fancy)! The only things at the store that are cheap is junk that people shouldn't eat but have to because it's what they can afford!

Even if death-bed Tom’s fantasy egg and milk prices were true, they would only be non-representative outliers. Using these outliers as examples on a national TV show only show that Tom is an irresponsible gaslighter who deserves a punch in the face more than additional air time.

The average price of milk in the U.S. was $4.32 per gallon as of June 2026. The average price of a dozen eggs is $2.14 as of June 2026. People watching Fox News are in a cult but even they know what they are paying for stuff

The crazy thing is that by international standards $2.14 for twelve eggs is terrifyingly cheap. If eggs are that cheap then there are some truly awful things happening in the supply chain.
