Bernie Sanders refuses to say whether he regrets endorsing Platner

#FatFuck walked out on an interview with her while she begged him to stay. #Welker would fit in nicely in press corps. She'll ask a question. He'll insult her. She'll apologize.

The American press needs to grow the hell up RIGHT NOW! The president is robbing us blind, selling everything in Washington that isn’t nailed down yet we have to listen to, “do you feel bad the one guy in the race with sensible ideas turned out to be a jerk? Do you feel bad yet, huh, huh?” Morons!

Are we really still talking about Platner? Is he still a thing? Time to move on. On the other hand, is it time to raise hell about the members of Trump’s cabinet who were part of Epstein‘s bad-boy club?

Wow. As if there aren’t 50,000 more important things to discuss. That’s why I read the blurbs and never watch. How is this anything other than something that is irrelevant in the scheme of things.

In a recent NYT podcast, Platner "strategist" Morris Katz made it clear the team behind Platner knew about every problem and red flag. They kept going, relying on "grace," "nuance" & "understanding of complexities," to see how much they could get away with. That makes them Republicans! 🤬

Why should he apologize? The misogyny is INTENTIONAL! Thanks to him & his cult of bros the Left has a misogyny problem that Platner is merely a symptom of. This 2021 article details the hate women got from them in 2016. You can find the book online. link.springer.com/chapter/10.1...

link.springer.comThe Dirtbag Left: Bernie Bros and the Persistence of Left-Wing MisogynyMisogyny is a malady that affects people across the political spectrum. In recent years, more attention has been paid to the misogyny of the right and its use in mobilising right-wing politics. As a r...

Yeah, he whiffed a softball question. Regret is a complicated idea, but all he had to say was ... "With the benefit of hindsight, sure I have regrets. I wish we had had more complete information before the primary. We need a strong progressive to take on Collins, and now we have one in Jackson."

i'm sure they're combing the list of Swalwell endorsers now for the next interview

It’s a bit of a gotcha nonsense question. He endorsed what Platner was selling to all of us. Then called for him to drop out. Why would this be Bernie’s fault?

The most popular candidate within the party at the time suggests something wrong with the candidates usually allowed to compete for elective positions. Not the voters. Maybe the Dem party should not work to block any that are not wealth servers. As the Dem party is doing right now.

Certainly not Platner. I told people from the beginning what a piece of shit he is. But everyone kept saying it didn’t matter because Collins needs to be defeated. Well, because of all this, she’ll win easily.

I don't believe Collins will win. Apart from her Trump enabling track record, the majority of voters are done with the Republican fascists who only care about their own pockets.

This is the right way to answer this! No apologies! The right doesn't even kick their abusers out! No need to apologies! Just keep attacking! This is why Bernie is the GOAT!

Again both can be true, I think the expectation is that we’ll be honest about our failures versus the GOP lying all the way. We lost in 2024 for a multitude of reasons. Racism being at the forefront, however people didn’t have a chance to warm up to Harris, we never had a primary and more.

Exactly - which means you expel the anticoagulants like Sanders and his merry band of wreckers who demonstrated - beyond all doubt - that when it came down to Trump vs. The Dems, they hated the Dems more. We are never fucking forgetting that. Fucking never.

Of course he is. He is controlled opposition against Democrats. Russian asset. Planter was an infiltrator. And Bernie doesn't want to talk about his endorsement of a guy with a NAZI tattoo which now claims he is a Communist.

The Bernie School of Politics is why we have trump. He's the masterclass of how to beat up the best side so the worst side always wins.

Literally nothing. I should really take this down. My comment was more about my lack of faith in the journalist after seeing the clips from the WHCD with her and Miller. I was careless in posting given the context of the interview.

Bernie Sanders is an albatross on the Democratic party who does more harm than good. He is a registered independent who is not nearly as concerned as he should be with actually getting Democrats elected.

She’s such a piece of shit. Good God, I cannot believe I’m sitting here pining for the days of Chuck Todd. I would’ve asked her if she regrets yucking it up with Stephen Miller.

Bernie Sanders' self-reflection is not relevant when there is an election in 3 months. He endorsed Platner then called on him to drop out, which is an admission of being wrong. A lot of Platner supporters felt exactly the same. Should we ask if she regrets being friends with Steven Miller?

I was a Sanders delegate locally in 2016, but I'm pretty much done with him. Even I know he could have answered, "Sure, we have regrets - I regret we didn't do a better job vetting Platner, and we should in the future." What's the downside to that?

Sanders did the country a service by taking on the corporate wing of the Democratic Party but he's becoming an obstacle to the movement that emerged in part from his campaigns.

Agree. I followed him way back when he was doing "brunch with Bernie" on Thom Hartmann's radio show every Friday. Good ideas, poor execution/judgment, dude, pass the torch.

And when it comes to Platner, I have to say, I'm disappointed in a whole bunch of individuals and organizations I generally respect. I really hope there is some reflection and learning happening.

You didn't notice whom Sanders staffed his campaign with? They were terrible, basically Hassan Piker but without the communication skills. He has a long history of incompetence when assessing and choosing people. Did he ever have a stand-alone bill of his get out of committee?

I’ve been one of the biggest Bernie supporters for like a decade now, but what the fuck? Are these guys stupid? It’s good to admit when you were wrong. People appreciate honesty. This inability to admit mistakes is the exact problem people have with democrats

I don’t regret my tiny donation to his campaign because his political message really needed to be heard. As it turns out, he turned out to be a *bad* messenger, pretty horrible actually, but the things he supported or wanted to see in government are things i believe in.

He endorsed platner on 8/30/26. Then the tatoo stuff in ovlctober. Then the problematic texts in early 26 cane to light. Then the allegations in june/july. He pulled the endorsement on 7/7/26 when the allegations came to light. When should Bernie have pulled his endorsement?

He wasn't wrong though. Platner was. He didn't endorse him because he liked him personally and was betting on his history. He endorsed him because of his politics. The credible accusations came out. He told him to drop out. He did. These are questions for the dumbasses that didn't vet him.

I really hope you’re not forming an equivalence here between whether a candidate is “ likable personally” on the one hand, and whether they’ve been credibly accused of sexual assault, on the other There was evidence much earlier on that should’ve led Sanders to reevaluate his support

He was wrong. Period. There was plenty of Ted flags when Saint Bernard jumped in. It’s a character trait with him. He’s the worst judge of political character and always has been

You should also bet people you are going to endorse. But that would require any worker accountability from this fucker. Still says Trump is mostly right on immigration. And guns. Fuck Bernie.

Bernie has always endorsed terrible candidates. He endorsed Andrew Gillum for governor in my state in 2018, helped propel him from last place in the primary over Gwen Graham who was the only candidate who had a chance of winning the general election. Gillum lost & brought our incumbent Democratic

that'd work better if he hadn't powered thru the Nazi tattoo. honestly it's pretty dumb in the first place for an unknown randoms first go at an election being a US senator in a vital swing seat. being sloppy would have been far less important if it was city council or something.

He endorsed a man with a Nazi tattoo and credible rape allegations who was improperly vetted. Shut up. Bernie fucked the dog on this one, just like when he elevated Tulsi fucking Gabbard and you people STILL want to pretend that St Bernie can do no wrong? Grow the fuck up

I mean, he stuck with Platner long after it was obvious that this guy was deeply problematic, i.e. his Nazi tattoo and not being forthcoming about it. If you want to give him a pass for not knowing this stuff before he endorsed him initially, perhaps, but what about the subsequent 7 months or so?

She's obviously asking, KNOWING WHAT YOU KNOW NOW, DO YOU REGRET ENDORSING HIM? If Sanders interpreted as, Knowing what you knew then..., then he is completely out to lunch. The only reasonable response (if you're not Trump), is, "Yes, I regret it, and I apologize."

We all make decisions based on what is in front of us at that time. It was a stupid question. Welker has never asked #FatFuck if he regrets endorsing & hiring all the people that have since said he was a lying pig.

Why did Bernie endorse a candidate that wasn’t fully vetted then? You’re as bad as trump by deflecting responsibility. If Bernie had questions about Platner he should have withheld his endorsement. If the info about Platner was circulating and Bernie didn’t ask questions, that’s on Bernie too.

He doesn’t think he was wrong because he doesn’t give a shit about women, misogyny, or violence against us, as is pretty fucking clear by the way he ran his campaign and the fan base he has cultivated. Honestly fuck this guy and his bros.

When was the last time someone from the left admitted they were wrong? I think there was one Sandernista who admitted it after the 2016 election, but I can’t think of any since.

Dont make heros out of people. They're flawed bags of meat. But like, maybe admit the guy with a nazi tattoo was a bad call.

I’m just stating a fact. I’ve never heard a polician admit to making a mistake. Did Bill Clinton apologize for hiring Dick Morris? Or Hillary Clinton for Mark Penn? Did Obama say that not prosecuting Wall Street fraud was a disaster? Did Biden apologize for running for a second term?

Of course. He’s at the center of a whole bunch of campaigns where his campaign alumni started consulting companies that have raked in easily over $1B from campaigns like Fetterman, Platner, El-Sayed, Steyer, etc, etc. Search my posts for ‘Middle Seat’ and ‘Fight Agency’. 💵 💵 bsky.app/profile/maud...

Well, of course, there are a lot of pockets being filled with multimillions in the circle of Bernie campaign alumni who started their own consulting firms.👇 You take one person out then the circle will be broken. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😒 bsky.app/profile/maud...

People are being kidnapped on the streets, Republicans continue to keep child abusers in office and passing laws, and we need to make sure that Bernie says I’m sorry. That’s fucking pathetic.

the man who changes parties every 6yrs to run in the dem primary then jumps back leaving the VTDems without a candidate on the Nov ballot, did similar in 2016, jumped parties, complained about how democrats award delegates, drew attention away from Hillary at the DNC, created havoc then jumped back

Eh, I don't have a problem with his answer. She's asking Sanders if he is sorry he didn't have the power of precognition. He was a little late to take away his endorsement relative to others, but he did and thats that.

It's not like a Nazi tattoo is a harbinger of bad things to come or anything. How was a Jewish man to recognize that as a red flag??

Nah, ppl should pay attention to what he’s really saying as Welker continues on this, yet no effort to interview anyone about Max Miller beating his wife and toddler, nothing on her broken bones nor what she said, “Daddy’s house scares me”

Bernie is duplicitous. Before 2024 election: “Biden is the most pro-working class president in modern history” Literal day after 2024 election: “democrats abandoned the working class” He’s the wrong person to champion the message of the working class. He only says what he thinks we want to hear.

You might not be aware of this, but just because Bernie says something doesn’t make it true, has a shit track record himself, and he’s not above spreading propaganda. Unlike Bernie, the Democratic Party passed legislation during Biden’s term proves they’re not out touch with the working class.

"hey bernie, do you regret not being FUCKING PSYCHIC?" jesus do you people even listen to yourselves? "well I PERSONALLY never trusted platner" *huffs own farts* he was always suspicious to ME *sniff sniff* surprised nobody else saw it! *sniiiiiiff*

He was still defending Platner long after it had become obvious the man was garbage. Sanders has a record of backing shitty people and behaving shittily toward women himself. We share most of the same political positions, but I've been thoroughly done with this man since 2015.

Platner is not the candidate anynore. People better focus on the race ahead rather than focused in performatic nonsense. Platners replacement is an excelent candidate that is not getting enough traction - not even by the people who argued correctly that Platner should be replaced.

Fuck Bernie. For real. Fuck him. Fuck his racism, Fuck his sexism, Fuck his crooked stealing from a tiny Vermont college, Fuck his faux "anti-establishment" fuckery and Fuck his ancient, decrepit, senile ass.

Why is she still pushing on this, the guy is out of the race. She is such a hack, I bet she’ll be asking the same questions on this in October. The Dems forced the guy out and the R’s are doing nothing about the guy who allegedly beat his wife and broke a bone in his own daughter.
