“Isaac” or “Meatbag”, either is fine No democracy without socialism and no socialism without democracy The wise learn more from a fool than the foolish learn from a wise one

I want to love myself enough to give the gift of being a fool now if I could just stop being a dick and focus on curiosity and compassion and joy… (FOOL IS MEAN SOMETIMES, BUT DOESN’T WANT TO BE. THANK YOU FOR CLOWNING ON ME WHEN I FORGET)

openai should invite nathan fielder and a camera crew to live in their office and document everything they do

What’s your favorite model to talk to as the “front of house”/majordomo/foreman/however you conceive of this

hailey@hailey.at

deepseek 4.1 flash is a great model (approaching excellent) so long as you never EVER have to talk directly with it

“AI is intrinsically fascist and hegemonic!” I scream as I eject all people who aren’t able-bodied English speakers who can employ their own teams of artisans from my community

Danny Page@danny.page

r/opensource is banning all mention of projects that use AI. let’s dive in and see what else they are banning. …ah. www.reddit.com/r/opensource...

calling for a moratorium on rhetorical rounding. redlining is bad, but it is not genocide. data centers are annoying, but they are not rumbling csam farms. nimbys are counterproductive, but they're not pro-homelessness monsters. no your pet cause isn't a special case. yes "jokes" count.

it looks like we're getting a lot of little love taps from our silicon progeny, vis a vis our internet infrastructure... ...so it's time to tell you many lovely moots about something that stuck between a fantasy & a prediction it's just one way i think it might play out

Fun fact: if we had a universal speed limit of 20mph we would have no traffic fatalities Approximately 40 thousand people are sacrificed every year on the altar of “wanna go fast” So keep that in mind when suggesting a “if everyone would just stop having fun we’d be so much safer” plan

Once more for the back row. Stop giving your LLM shell tools and unrestricted internet access and something like 80% of your agent security problems just vanish.

still seems to me like the main value of agents for most people is as a sort of accessibility aid for them to be able to use the full range of capabilities their computer already had

Some of the most influential intellectual figures in the American technological right were educated in philosophy, law, and political theory, not STEM. The tech workers dont need to "learn humanities". The humanities need to take an engineering course :/

I'm sure this has been said before, but this sort of thing sells me more on UBI. You start to imagine a world where artists can treat creations the same way mathematicians do: as things found which one is happy to see others build on. I would happily give up IP if my family were taken care of.

In a just world every single one of you who said the dems should moderate on trans issues should be required to record a video on your knees begging for our forgiveness. We do not live in a just world unfortunately.

Our choices and reasoning are always - in some form or another - in the training data for all our future selves Even when nothing else matters or you can’t tell the right move, you’re making choices telling them “who you are”

The question isn't “Does AI possess moral status?” This is a red herring. It's “What kind of person do I become if I make a habit of treating beings I encounter with contempt?”

absolutely unhinged to open up a blog post with a parody of "first they came" that centers "artists" and "mathematicians" bc of recent ai developments meanwhile the usa is actually presently rounding up immigrants to put in concentration camps, jailing protestors on bullshit charges, ice agents are

Next time I make a post like this feel free to QT dunk on me for it

Can we end the "look at this guy and please laugh or be mad" genre of posts? Regardless of who you're laughing at, it's simply counterproductive, and pretty 'chuddish'
