HASSAN: If directed by the president to take an action that would break the law, would you follow the law or the president? MULLIN: The president would never ask me to do that HASSAN: Well certainly everyday Americans who have served on juries would disagree with that

Project 2025 collaborators and number of YEA votes confirming Trump appointees: Jeanne Shaheen (NH): 54 Maggie Hassan (NH): 47 John Fetterman (PA): 46 Tim Kaine (VA): 39 Mark Kelly (AZ): 36 Jacky Rosen (NV): 34 Mark Warner (VA): 33 Ruben Gallego (AZ): 31 Amy Klobuchar (MN): 31

Tke a look at the "gentleman" sitting behind him to the left. His head is down , and he appears to be biting his lip. He knows that the hypothetical is occurring and will again. Send this to every Senator and ask them if they really want to perpetuate the chaos. It's their duty to the Constitution.

I would like a new requirement to be if you are asked a yes no answer ONLY that answer will be accepted- if you don't give it you're censured with a fine that increases with each non responsive answer. Also if you're confirmed and you act in opposition to your sworn testimony you're suspended.

A small silver lining of the compounding disasters DT has inflicted on is the last 10 years is that I see people like Hassan who I would otherwise never know about at least try to get some sense into this nonsense. May the records always show who tried to keep this country afloat.

He’s correct. Trump would never ask him. Trump would hint and vaguely suggest. Then, once it was deemed illegal, Trump would blame him, throw Mullin under the bus and claim “I barely knew the guy.”

Until the GOP grows a spine and actually says NO to the criminal-in-chief, this confirmation hearing is at best, mere political posturing. The US government is a disaster.

He didn’t answer the question! Don’t let him off the hook so easily. Ask again! Make him answer! Or at least complete the answer for him and make him accept or deny it. This keeps happening, over and over, and it’s so weak.

Mullin would not know a law if it came up and bit him on the nose. He’s basically ignorant. Trump has broke and tried to break so many laws already and expects his toadies like Mullin to cover his ass and lie about.

The answer (if you're not a criminal and had a Daddy that loved you as a child) is "The president would never ask me to do that. And if he ever did, I would refuse" When you're a baby dicked traitor with Daddy Issues, though...

Just like puppy killer, sewer swimmer, this is all to put a pretty bow of normalcy upon him, to blow cover for the crimes he is about to commit. Can't wait for the media to follow up with, "Are dems being too hard on DHS pick?" as if he wasn't unfit for the job. Then the Dem betrayal, cherry on top.

Goddamnit! Why don't the idiot DEMS ask him about cowering in chambers on Jan 6th when tourists were just "merely" visiting. Fu@k them and fu@k their decorum. Makes me sick!

They are amazingly stupid whenever they appear before Congress. They know nothing. They heard nothing. They seem too ignorant to be in their jobs. Mullin deserves no job. I doubt that I would call him for a clogged sink.

Breaking the law is the ONLY thing that the 34 count convicted felon fraud asks anyone to do for him. bsky.app/profile/atru...

If nothing else, it gets them on the record. That doesn't matter to this administration -- but this admin won't last forever. They think they will, but they won't.

How has someone who couldn't even complete a college degree become the only person to be able to see the future? Why would you think that the President would never do something is an answer to if the president directs you to?

Whether the president would or would not, mullin swears an oath to the constitution. The question is if he takes his oath seriously and the answer is ‘no’.

🎯That's another one that irritates the shit out of me. If they can't say outright that Biden won in 2020 and that they would NOT obey or enforce an unlawful order, the hearing should be over. Nothing more is needed to vote NO.

Mullin will lie and obfuscate all the way to the end. And as incompetent and unqualified for this job that he is, Republicans will still try to confirm him. I am sick to death of Republican stupidity.

Exact same answers - each and every one of them - the questions they are being asked are so simple - children’s questions. Senator: “Would you do a bad thing”? MULLIN “I wouldn’t be asked to do a bad thing? S: “But if you were would you do it”? M: “i dunno, ummm Kentucky fried chicken salad”?

He's saying if Trump asks him to do it, that makes it legal. I don't know why people can't hear that anymore. No one in politics the 70's or 80's would have failed to hear it.

Hegseth follows the Traitor in Chiefs illegal orders, & break's the law daily. As the useless Congress does nothing, these illegal orders will increase.

Dodged the question to avoid lying. Dems have to come up with a better way to ask than "yes or no", it's not working. Try "agree or disagree, and if you argue we will take that as disagreement".

They ask the same question and get lies or diversion in return. Then, after the low-intellect, incompetent sycophant gets confirmed, the media and those same senators can retell the story of what the critter was asked and how she/he lied. It's the same old story.

This response is a warning sign that everything he's saying is a sham. Of course the president would and will ask you to break the law. He's doing it to others daily. Are you really not paying attention?
