I will never forget @xoxofest.com, despite only attending once. The vibes were unlike anything, and if anything, it's exactly what US games events miss in 2026. XOXO was focused, it had soul, it was challenging and playful - it was the polar opposite of the giant smooth mega-events games has now.

I went once, in 2018, and I’ll never forget it. It was during the darkest point in my adult life and it’s not hyperbole to say it helped set me back on a healthy path. The “postcard to my future self” is on my desk. It makes my cry sometimes, and I owe it to that 2018 Eric to live and make things.
