Running pro-energy sector ads is not the mandate of Environment and Climate Change Canada. Carney is also gutting federal science agencies and trashing environmental protections. Carney is worse than Harper.

The Government™ has made an ad about all these protests happening around the world, and it’s surprisingly honest and informative.

Once again, I have to ask myself just what kind of a 'democracy' needs to have, as the symbolic expression of its authority, a relic of feudal absolutism and garish inequality. #KingCharles

The Conservatives want you to believe they can cut your taxes, add no new taxes AND balance the budget, all without touching your health care. The BC Greens have a costed plan that makes life affordable and asks the ultrawealthy to pay their fair share. Vote Green on Saturday, Oct. 24.

OUCH. Bloc Québécois MP @patbonin.bsky.social absolutely clears the environment minister in this clip on Bill C-39. My translation: “It’s sad to see the minister who is giving the impression of wanting to convince herself that the bill that’s directly under her purview isn’t a disaster.

Philippines following in the footsteps of Pakistan. If this keeps up, there'll be no market for all that LNG that David Eby is pinning the future of BC on.

Sunny, windy Alberta is a leader when it comes to renewable energy in Canada. But new provincial policies are trying to rein in that growth. The Narwhal’s senior Prairies reporter, @drewanderson.bsky.social, explains.

Fun facts: 🔥Since 2007, BC’s climate pollution has decreased by 2.3 million tonnes. 🔥Approved LNG export projects will increase BC’s climate pollution by 21.2 million tonnes by 2035. 🔥This is ten times more pollution than we’ve managed to cut in nearly 20 years.

The capacity to produce more with less labour could be the basis for reduced working hours and improved living standards. However, with #Bezos and the rest of his class in the saddle, it can only mean increased exploitation for some and abandonment for the rest. #AI

Person1: If the government wants to build a bridge it should just print money to pay for it. Person2: That's crazy! What about the inflation! Person1: Meh. Just tax it back. Print the money, pay for the bridge, tax the money back. No inflation!

This carbon capture thing, if it ever hits 100% of its planned capacity, will only capture less than 10% of planned oil sands emissions.

Mark Carney@mark-carney.bsky.social

A new pipeline to get more Canadian energy to new markets. One of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in the world. Canada is working. Building big. Building together. Building strong for all.

We run with the free market, right? So if you're tired of high gas prices, don't worry because the invisible hand is gonna swoop in any day now with new supply and everything will be back to normal.

Was there a really big guy there? Did he have tears streaming from his eyes? Did he say "Sir, sir, I can't thank you enough". Like a really big guy, tears streaming down his face saying "Sir, thank you, sir. You're the greatest premiere we've ever had" Was it like that?

The oil industry is unwilling to pay for this pipeline because even they know the world is moving away from fossil fuels. This project leaves Canadians bearing all the risks of a bad investment without any of the rewards.
