In 2015 I wrote "Awaken," an interactive fiction made with the express purpose of teaching someone I care about an important lesson. A few years ago, I spruced it up a bit and created the 2nd Edition. Feel free to have a gander: wrkr.itch.io/awaken-2nd-e... #gamedev #indiegamedev #sologamedev

A few days ago, one of you lovely humans out there decided to give me my first game sale ever(!), paying for what could have been their free copy of Awaken 2nd Edition on my itch page. Thank you so much! Highly encouraging, for sure. #gamedev #sologamedev

Some time last year I made a 22 minute "mix" insipred by 90s breakbeat tapes sampling the SIGNALIS OST. I never really intended to do anything with it, but stumbled upon it yesterday and thought it's still pretty cool. Full thing is now on my Youtube channel ❤️ much love

We’re excited to share a series of videos soon, showcasing the difference Kagi makes in search - especially in comparison to Google. Users should never have to settle for engines that prioritize advertisers over them, filling results with ads, low-value content and AI slop.

I could not take it anymore. I've purchased and will play Caves of Qud. The things I see/hear/read are just too insane not to give it a go.

I want to do something to help indie game visibility, especially for those that choose to self publish So here's the plan: I made a list of self published indies. I'll add people to this It will power a feed, of only MAJOR updates for your game. Releases, demos, sales, updates, etc #indiegamedev

I consider this both my first and second "official" projects. Gave me a headache but it was nice to finish it.

Climbing the ranks as a casual in Tekken 8 means I'm starting to run into sweats and I just can't hang. Rough out here.

I wish more games still had a true element of mystery to them. All these exact stats and numbers and information is nice and all, but having the game tell me "X item deals Y more damage/is Z% more effective" instead of discovering it for myself intuitively through gameplay is occasionally a downer.

Hello bsky: I've never been one to post but we're gonna try and change that. In that spirit, I can't help but think about how much I wish more games had a sort of "hobbyist" approach to customization, and didn't gate those aspects of themselves behind a pay wall. Counter Strike comes to mind... 🧵

...time, but I still think the p2p cash marketplace model from CS also helps make the ecosystem for the cosmetics more robust, so having both might be okay. Having a consistent gameplay experience accented by an almost fractal level of personalization just sounds incredibly rewarding...

...to me. But that's just a thought. Perhaps when I'm in a position to assemble such a tac shooter (or any other variety of multiplayer title) myself, I can implement a system like that and see if it's trash or not. 😅

...predetermined to be valuable. Regarding CS, sure Valve decides drop rates and which skins are more/less common, but those drop rates naturally degrading over time/low frequency drops becoming rarer with time is more natural than having a day to purchase directly or risk never seeing it again...

...because impulsivity breeds higher revenue. It's for these reasons you find CS skins at obscene prices on the community market. So while these factors play into cosmetics feeling personal and individual, it still feels limited in certain ways regarding overall player expression. Despite having...

...for those unaware, Counter Strike weapon cosmetics have a lot going on, whether that be their variety (normal/stat-trak/souvenir), their wear/float value, whether the design is static or a pattern with specific variants, how common/rare the skin is, on top of the various things you can do...
