Any town that agrees to host a Trump convention or rally that doesn't ask this notorious deadbeat for money in advance is ridiculously incompetent. Trump has stiffed MANY cities. It's a lesson he learned when he didn't pay his subcontractors during construction of buildings.
‘Absolutely ridiculous’: Dallas still hasn’t received Republican midterm convention reimbursement

"So, in Alaska, if Peltola wins, her victory is inherently suspect and must be investigated. And in Minnesota, if Flanagan bests Tafoya, her victory is inherently suspect b/c Trump has declared that Tafoya can’t lose, period, unless Dems cheat. This is the long, stupid shadow of the 2020 election."

So hard to pick a favorite part of this article. Pretending that sending unsolicited dick pics at 53 was a “youthful indiscretion” is good, but don’t sleep on the argument that his wife forgave him for subjecting other women to unwanted nude photos so everyone else should too
Republican congressional candidate Brent Taylor asks voters to forgive past sexual advances as "youthful indiscretions."

NEW: The DOGE operative who gutted USAID -- firing thousands of employees and canceling lifesaving programs -- never actually signed the paperwork that's legally required for him to be employed by the agency.

Lot of folks (self included) expressing despair that despite aggressive prosecuting fascists ("doing everything right") Brazil was still going to get Bolsonaro-ed and the fact this guy gtfo-ed as quickly as he did should be a big signal for the AOC DOJ to go *hard* in 2029.

UPDATE: @justinjpearson.bsky.social on Brent Taylor’s Sexting Scandal🍆 “This is the type of predatory behavior that needs to be rooted out of our society and politics. Tennessee deserves leaders who respect women— not sexually harass, expose their genitalia to, or take advantage of them.”

"Journalists often use the words 'unsubstantiated' or 'uncorroberated' when referring to the allegations victims have levied against powerful men, like Trump. Instead of saying these women’s accounts are not corroborated, maybe it’s time we say they were not investigated in spite of clear patterns."

New in PN: In defense of empathy "Being aware of other people’s feelings, sensitive to them, and able to put yourself in another person’s shoes is pretty much essential for humans to function as a community. But the current conservative project has zero room for that sort of thing."

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

scott galloway and jessica tarlov held an event here in town yesterday where “don’t impeach or waste time on investigations because ‘28” was the consensus position of the panel. so yeah, this is something to anticipate.
If Democrats actually win big because people want a check on Trump corruption I expect every move to do so will be covered in the corporate media as being risky to their 2028 position.

The Ramaswamy campaign not only tried to capitalize on a child rape victim, they did it by using an old homeless woman who—while vile—is in no mental shape to adequately understand the stakes. And did they pay her? Either answer is bad.
Donna Arthur — aka Amy Acton’s estranged mother, and the person whose testimony Vivek Ramaswamy devoutly trusts — has been living with her cats, in a car, in a church parking lot, having declined housing assistance. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/24/u...
