Before she was mayor, Airbnb sent out an email to everyone in Boston with an account on the platform to try to get them to email Michelle Wu to oppose the regulations on short term rentals being discussed before the city council. It backfired hilariously, but they have a long history of meddling.

A reminder, because it is almost that time of year: More children are killed by cars on Halloween than any other day of the year, by far. www.vox.com/future-perfe... If you're a parent, I hope you'll do what you can to keep kids safe. If you're driving on Saturday, PLEASE exercise extra caution.

disappointing response from public works regarding my complaint that the new curb cuts they just put in will send visually impaired people using canes directly into traffic. β€œwe work directly with ADA staff” ok. but the gov’t guidelines actually allow for making curb cuts inaccessible to the blind

It's like, "Oh, this is my sense of humor." This is the thing that I am unconsciously comparing things to when I am judging whether something is "funny." All art is in a silent competition with the half-buried memories of watching Gremlins 2 100 times between the ages of six and ten.

This is such a fantastic photo: "The Witches' Tea Party" but I want to use it to explain the origin of the tall, pointy witches hat. The real story of this photo: These are residents at the Hospital of the Holy & Undivided Trinity: an almshouse in Castle Rising, Norfolk, England established 1610.

It is neither extreme nor asking too much to expect Democrats to endorse the pre-Trump status quo on LGBTQ+ rights.

You want to talk about lessons learned? Fine But I'm not giving into the idea that it was the "excesses" of the movement to blame and not the highly visible and successful coordination of large segments of the US oligarchy and police state to crush said uprising

5,000 gallons of molasses? A mere drip.

The Baltimore Focal@baltimorefocal.bsky.social

About 5,000 gallons of molasses entered the Inner Harbor after an overflow at Westway Feed Products’ Hull Street facility. Maryland inspectors found the company violated environmental law and ordered it to stop unauthorized discharges and clean up the release.

None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

We literally just want back the rights we had under Obama, Biden, and even Trump 1. A decade ago, when NC tried to take away bathroom rights, it was an international controversy and the state repealed it. Now we have some Democrats running saying they want to take away more rights.

The soaring costs of public universities is a political decision. When these schools predominantly served white students, they tended to be free (UC, CCNY, etc.) But as the number of students of color has increased, funding for the public universities has decreased. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/25/b...

legitimate reasons don’t matter for these folks, but: can we talk about how awesome masks are for allergies? i can enter the laundry detergent aisle for short periods of time while masking! i used to have to get a store employee (because the hypoallergenic ones were always on the middle)

Jessica Ellis@baddestmamajama.bsky.social

RFK decided to once again target maskers in a speech, laughing about going to LA and seeing people driving in their cars while masked. And I want to make sure people know that studies have shown that the reason someone might wear a mask in their car is that it's none of your fucking business.

if i had enough money i didn’t have to work i’d be making unrestricted grants to local nonprofits and buying or building some apartment buildings that provide income-scaled housing to trans and queer people in Mass relocating from states with restrictive laws

If you gave me $446 million American currency units I would be calling lawyers, accountants, and real estate agents in that order. Actually my newly hired army of assistants would be calling real estate agents.

More evidence Ed Flynn should move to the suburbs because he clearly hates cities

The Fort Pointer@fortpointer.bsky.social

Photos of the lovely block party that Councilor Flynn tried to cancel, and will very likely blow up in the Herald and Mass Daily News. Flynn has already trashed the host as β€œan influencer of some sort,” a Southie resident that I understand lives around the corner, on Broadway.

Yes. There is a relationship between this and the Cornell case for those with eyes to see it

I need people to understand this selective good ole boy justice β€” the kind that protects abusers, rewards impunity, and openly flouts rule of law and equal protection under it β€” is Jim Crow shit, practically speaking. It's how Jim Crow terrorism FLOURISHED. Trump broadened the acceptable targets.

Which is why it's incumbent upon us to be relentless in driving home the message of unflinching accountability to all of our Democratic electeds, especially the ones who expect to be on a ballot in '28. We can't let the furor die down.οΏΌ

If Democrats actually win big because people want a check on Trump corruption I expect every move to do so will be covered in the corporate media as being risky to their 2028 position.
