I feel like I keep disappointing the people who follow me for art. Taking commissions i didn’t wanna do back in the day because no money, then plunging straight into thesis year just kinda broke my relationship to drawing and painting. I want it back so bad tho

Day 15: complete an unfinished piece #oc_tober2026 I started this piece this summer after seeing Norman Rockwell’s triple self portrait as a print at a summer house! Got busy and didn’t take the time to finish it until last weekend ⭐️

This applies to a lot and the last part is especially relevant. I think we’re at the point where attendees are receiving a level of professionalism and care in event running that should’ve been compensated a while ago.

I've been thinking since I stepped down from FWA leadership about how much furry conventions have grown, and how much we now ask of the volunteers who keep them running. I decided to put those thoughts into words, and I'd appreciate it if you'd give them a read: gomi.gay/blog/26-09-0...

gomi.gayAs Furry Conventions Grow, Our Expectations Need to ChangeFurry conventions depend on volunteers giving extraordinary amounts of their time. As our events grow, we need to ask when that generosity becomes something our conventions depend on.

Alternatively if a con wants pro, there’s a lot of us that do this for a living but simply cannot give our time away for free
