Because of factors including the America Competes Act of 2024, there have been a lot of changes in Federal hiring and our office was unable to post in JOE, but we have an opening with more to come (this is for a GS-14, requires experience): www.usajobs.gov/job/887347300 (1/3?)

Within the non-academic sector, the # of job listings from the US Federal govt remains extremely low relative to 2020-24. Last year (2025) was a major outlier with very little hiring; no sign of improvement yet this yr. 7/9

Interested in a Fed job? Please note the often very short application windows. Look at the requirements for jobs and have everything prepped and ready in your USAJobs profile, including: 2 page resume (not a typo) and transcripts also google "OPM essay questions" and prep drafts (3/3)

I still have a blue glass bicentennial mug from Jack in the Box.

Chiming in, since I see Bicentennial memories are giving Gen X their moment -The celebrations were indeed uibquitous, enthusiastic, and awesome -I went to Disney World for the first time in 1976, and it was an insane explosion of red, white, and blue

Great paper, exciting to see it in print. I'm always interested in papers on strategic behavior in environmental policy.

Big fan of this paper and I'm glad it found a home. Environmental infrastructure spending is understudied compared to its budget.

This is a really great paper and I'm glad to see it in print. Environmental infrastructure spending is definitely an understudied topic.

💧 Clean water mandates are costly, but they can drive local growth! 🏘️ A new #JAERE study finds that the 1972 Clean Water Act tripled resident user fees 💸 — yet surface water quality improved 19% and populations grew 13–30% faster in municipalities under 10,000 people. 📈 #JaereFigureFriday 📉 #Econsky

I thought those were CAFOs at first glance. FFS.

A reminder this happened earlier this week at Trump’s massive concentration camp in El Paso: “The cases of tuberculosis and COVID-19, two diseases that spread through the air, have underscored concern about the conditions at Camp East Montana and other immigration detention centers.“

CSWEP strongly condemns Larry Summers’ behavior as revealed in the email correspondence with the late Jeffrey Epstein. While abuse of power in the economics profession is not new, rarely has the intent behind such abuse been so clearly stated.
