Imagine you were a Playboy editor and didn’t lead with “Somebody once told me that there’s a viral theory…”
There’s a viral theory called "Shrekking" that beautiful college women are “dating down,” but they don’t quite see it that way. “I would rather be with someone who treats me well but isn’t as good looking than have someone who doesn’t treat me well but has good looks.”
One thing I miss from Twitter, or maybe it was Tweetbot, was being able to mute accounts for a set amount of time. Someone I follow is having a petty back and forth in their replies, spanning days and threads. I don’t want to drop them, just take a short break. @bsky.app can this be a thing?

I’ll take microbrew meetup over nazi bar, but you do you. Hey @newyorker.com, come collect your messy bitch.
Why don’t you say it on a site he’s on so you’re not doing this sad little ‘brrrr let’s be cool guys on our little pirate ship that looks like a microbrew meet up?’ Why do this bitchmade little ‘teehee the bad man said bad words?’
Maybe they’re trying to get the Qrowd back on their side, maybe they’re just this stupid, but this isn’t how you flood the zone kids.
Melania Trump: Epstein was not alone. I call on congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors. Give these victims the opportunity to testify under oath in front of congress with the power of sworn testimony.
Sure, people love externalizing costs, and nobody seems to be thinking through the second order impact. We now have people generating reams of code that they can’t answer questions about, don’t understand, or both. I see devs copying and pasting Gemini’s arguments back and forth.
If you're going to refuse to use any platform that is using AI for software engineering, you're going to have to stop using the internet pretty soon. This is just the way that development works now, and it's like that because people find it really useful.
You are up to date.
