Okay what's the opposite of "because of woke". Like, "No Greggs vegan festive bake anymore, because of X". "Can't wear a pride pin on University Challenge, because of X". "Can't take a piss in peace anymore, because of X."

Has to function the same. Can't be, like, "fascism" because that's serious and I do not want to be serious. Has to convey "what is this new bullshit I have to put up with".

Is there such a thing as a tool for extracting mangled pixel art from screenshots, potentially through one or more layers of scaling, colour-space transformation and compression?

E.g. stuff like this pixel art mangled by Bluesky. I have the originals, but if I didn't, I might want to re-derive them. There's plenty of information there, and there's generally a good chance a large chunk of the colours used are from a few popular palettes. bsky.app/profile/weeb...

Testing to see if any of these survive Bluesky's awful image compression. From x1 to x4 resolution multipliers. These were saved as PNGs first, rather than directly copied and pasted from Aseprite. Uploaded via the web-page.

But it does get very smeary in some parts, so a naive approach is going to add a lot of bad colours in those areas. And sometimes social media sites systematically distort all the colours, presumably by changing colour spaces more than once.

So, like: identify location and size of the (screen-aligned) pixel grid, extract a probable colour distribution for each pixel, estimate palette size and fit colours to it, transforming to best fit known candidate palettes.

Uh yeah standard disclaimers apply. Extra, heavy duty disclaimers too. Outside the clip that stream is very NSFW. Chat is feral, obscene, and can text-to-speech anything they want 99% of the time. Not an endorsement. Caveat auditor.

(I tried to post this earlier and Bluesky mangled it extra-hard. So I deleted it straight away. This is the least-worst I can make it.)

I don't understand the disdain for flowchart-based recipes. Like, they can be quite space-hungry but they are definitely easier for me to process. I feel like I spend so much time rereading an unfamiliar recipe and re-finding my place. A graph/table/flowchart is a more navigable space.

I also like colour-coding to link prepared ingredients/intermediate mixtures and their consumption. Anything that helps you see "what is this thing for", "where does this thing come from" and "what are we touching in this step".

Any know any better tricks to stop Bluesky smearing the shit out of pixel art?

I never understood these games in arcades. I don't understand how anyone could afford to play enough to *learn* how to survive far on one credit on, say, Final Fight. How much was someone spending to learn to 1CC?

Derek Yu@mossmouth.bsky.social

Painful review of the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle on Steam that really highlights how destructive the continue system was to people's perception of arcade games. The beat 'em ups mentioned play wildly different from one another if you're actually trying to survive on 1 credit.

The death of a trans woman in a Wolverhampton hospital was in *2023*. The supreme court ruling that created the current legal mess was in 2025. The new NHS guidance was published *last week*. These could not be direct causes of her death.

This is not to say that she wasn't killed by transphobia! This is not to say that we don't need answers! This is not to say that all three things can't share common causes. But please stop making claims that flat out cannot be true, or by omission making it sound like she died yesterday.

Relax. It's only an issue if hackers have access to computers that can factor the number 4 quickly.

My sister finished her game! I played an earlier version and I enjoyed the frontline/backline mechanics that have you weighing up whether you can keep your critical party member out of the fray for one more turn to recover, or whether you need them out there *right now* to hold the line.

Hello. Yes. It is me. I have finished my new game, Dungeon Delving. effieartoria.itch.io/delving It is a free, fantasy RPG built from the ground up in Unity, full of classic menu battles, exploration, and powerful characters for you to find. I hope you all enjoy it!

Repeat after me: 1) PIP isn't an out of work benefit. It is a benefit paid to disabled people to pay for the extra costs of living with a disability. 2) Some PIP claimants work. Some PIP claimants will never able to work at all. 3) Impoverishing people doesn't get them closer to employment

My first impression of the combat options is that the only thing that is good is "hit one enemy really hard". Healing is terrible: it has a huge opportunity cost, high resource cost, unremarkable effect. Defensive abilities, similarly huge opportunity cost. Hitting enemies ends fights.

The multi-enemy attacks might be good? But they have a high cost and are slower at taking out any one enemy. And all the enemies are pretty nasty.

I'm kinda baffled at the AI "reverse engineered" Adobe clones. Like, if you are systematically building it from the original software without a plausible clean room process, how on earth does it survive copyright claims?

I feel the need to re-up this thread. I'm not sure I can say this any better than I did already.

I reject that "biological male" is a useful or accurate term to describe me, a trans woman, most of the time. I have a bunch of biological traits typical of both cis women (hormone profile and from that breasts and fat distribution) and cis men (deeper voice, prostate) or neither (lack of gonads).

"Exactly one cell contains a teapot" Does it mean: 1. Exactly 1 cell contains exactly 1 teapot, any other cells contain 0 teapots. 2. Exactly 1 cell contains at least 1 teapot, any other cells contain 0 teapots. 3. Exactly one cell contains exactly 1 teapot, other cells contain 0, 2 or more.

If you had to enter the locations of the teapot(s), the assumed constraint would have become obvious. But without it, you're left wondering what the setter means until you can demonstrate that one interpretation admits zero, two or more solutions.
