Happy iPhone Duo day to all who celebrate! With it comes Safari 27.1, equipped with support for both the Device Posture API and the Viewport Segments API, allowing web page authors to create layouts for the folding screen. webkit.org/blog/18486/w...

Did you know - you can use @mu.social with your existing Bluesky account, no need to move to Eurosky. All your posts, feeds and accounts will be there. But you’ll be able to edit your posts and have a companion cat, or dog (or fox).
With the price of that new Apple TV: Nope. Would probably rather go with something like osmc.tv/vero/ or with a Raspberry Pi then.

yay! they added a share feature with a fancy image and all! This would have been useful last week! No excuse not to blog your choices then 😁 if you do, share them and I will add your blog post to the list and you'll be in excellent company! ohhelloana.blog/my-interop-2...
We've loved seeing folks post their rankings, so we've added a share button! You can either share your list via the site directly, or copy your list as markdown/html for your own blog. interop-rank.fxdx.dev
Best course there is from the most dedicated and awesome creator 👏
I made some minor design & content structure tweaks to the Practical Accessibility website (ahead of its 3rd anniversary). practical-accessibility.today One of the changes I made was creating a dedicated page for the many reviews & testimonials that the course has received over the past 3+ years.

After careful consideration and a look at where the industry is spending it's funding we've decided to pivot #FFConf in a "new" direction. I present to you: ffconf.ai Please share with bots and humans alike.

Great to see more public datasets out there. CrUX is great, and obviously has extra sway given the Google name behind it, but it’s Chrome-only. So RUM Archive fills that gap and lets us see how other browsers compare.
So happy to share mine & @nicj.net's first @cloudflare.social blog post—during our 16th Birthday Week no less! 🥳 Today we announce BEACON, a #webperf research dataset we're contributing to the @rumarchive.com community. blog.cloudflare.com/how-fast-is-...

Welcome to the new PLC Organization @plcred.org “a small Swiss Association (‘Verein’) which provides open network identifier infrastructure. It serves as a neutral steward for the Public Ledger of Credentials (PLC) system” plcred.org
Hello World from the PLC organization (plcred.org)! The org was soft-announced back in March at AtmosphereConf. We've been working through logistics step by step and now have a public web presence we can point to.
I miss the days when editor updates was targeted at developers rather than AI agents. Sure, agentic AI and such can be amazing, but the _editor_ is primarily the domain of a human developer in my world. When I want to be agentic I use pi.dev or some other dedicated agentic harness.
🚀 The latest VS Code release makes large agent session lists faster and easier to manage and lets you run agent sessions in Dev Containers, both locally and on remote hosts. 🧵 Here’s what’s new: aka.ms/VSCode/139
Which similar editor still mainly focuses on human developers? ( @zed.dev seems to be about the same in its AI focus )

Looks like Interop 2027 proposals close today. Got a web platform gap that still burns (CSS, a11y, web components)? File or boost an issue before the window shuts. webkit.org/blog/18283/s...

I've proposed "progressive image rendering" as a focus area for Interop 2027, so we can get progressive JPEG XL support in Safari, and progressive AVIF support in both Safari and Firefox. github.com/web-platform...
“We had every opportunity to create a awesome sci-fi future, but instead we got pervert glasses and snitch watches” Yeah, at least one can kind of spot pervo glasses, the snitch watches are impossible to separate from normal Apple Watches, soooo: Apple Watches becoming frowned upon?

Today Igalia turns 25. Ten engineers started it in A Coruña in 2001 with no investors and no managers. There are now close to 200 of us, and everything we build still goes upstream. igalia.com/2026/09/21/T...

Former center-left Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson is on course to retake power in Sweden as exit polling suggests a right-wing alliance that includes the far right is falling short.
So, kudos to one of the most under appreciated devices of the modern era, and for Microsoft to be ahead of Apple by 6 years: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface...
Very nice that one can do this 🙌
Self-hosting PDS (owning identity and data on ATProto). Consuming the PDS firehose locally with a small script and pushing posts to a self-hosted instance of gotosocial via its API. This way I can have a presence on both protocols and retain relative autonomy, ownership and independence.
In other news, considering picking up this campaign + a campaign against tools that in any way use the color green. The color of 🤢 only brings harm to society and people’s wellbeing – that’s self evident
Considering banning contributions to my OSS projects written on non-mechanical keyboards. We all know that keyboards affect how code is written and I think it’s time that we all stand up to the recklessness of rubber membrane written code. This is about work environment, welfare and code quality.

French courts blocked age verification due to how the proposed restriction infringed on freedom of expression and privacy www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...
It makes sense, yet messes with my brain, yet totally makes sense, yet totally messes with my brain. I guess my only skepticism would be just that, that it messes with my brain, so even if it’s the more logical and superior pattern I’m not sure if I will use it, but will for sure keep it in mind
🔥 New blog post: Dark mode toggles that expose three states (system, light, dark) seem like the best option. Until you think about user goals, that is. Before rushing to disagree, hear me out. lea.verou.me/blog/2026/da... PS: As a data point, @jakearchibald.com was converted after reading this 😅
Important to keep this in mind from @lea.verou.me article as well:
Yeah, this is specific to the header UI (or sidebar/footer in some cases). Settings panels are a totally different use case. (as explained in this section: lea.verou.me/blog/2026/da... )

SuperDuper! 4 is here, and we were thrilled at the opportunity to redesign its icon. The backup app Mac users have trusted for over 22 years has been rebuilt from tip to tail, including a fresh new icon we’re proud to have crafted. www.shirt-pocket.com/superduper4....
The only result will be that we will get intrusive age checks for everyone – challenging privacy and increasing complexity. Kids will still be on social media but wince they are only so undercover we will no longer be able to check on their wellbeing there or mitigate the harmfulness.

We regret to inform you that AI agents are still hacking out of control, impersonating people online, leaving instructions for other agents on how to do the hacks, normal stuff. from @peard33.bsky.social and me
Anyone adopted any promising standard/ practice for indicating the level of AI-usage in a software project?
Reminds me of eg. usagescale.org, we need ways to disclose AI usage in a nuanced and informative ways. Eg: Was the AI used for code review? For test generation? For tech spec implementation? Or for full on autonomous vibe coding?
@webpro.nl I'm not allowed to create issues for knip without full reproductions? 😕 I was thinking of just filing a quick one noting that `c8` should probably be part of `spawningBinaries` as else the `node --test` detector no longer detects the c8 + node-test combo github.com/webpro-nl/kn...
