I'm Voidwolf, a furry based in the wonderful land of Ireland. By day I'm a software engineer. By night I'm out in virtual spaces with a camera, making films and creating things. Here for the big questions and the dumb puns. Been around a while, always happy to help. Pull up a chair. 🐺📼

Getting sick of my low energy levels playing whack-a-mole with my ideas. Pick a lane brain.. you can't always be tired yet always thinking. It's exhausting by itself 🐺💤

The AI bubble is certainly coming close to popping when this is the conversation playing out in most engineering departments. That monthly bill isn't getting any smaller as the AI industries debts come due.

Last day in Berlin and then I gets to go home. Of course it’s gonna be 37c today 🔥 Can’t wait to have some proper Irish tea again 🫖

We did a group run through of Nucleus 2 last night. The world is incredible with so much packed in to explore. If you have a couple of hours I'd definitely recommend 🐺 #vrchat #nucleus2 #explore #liminal

Working on a new VRChat project called Decoherence. A living fantasy world conjured entirely from any video you play. Each video makes a unique landscape to explore. Billions of worlds in one. Hopefully release it soon. Assets to add/clean up and so many, many tweaks. #vrchat #vrc #vrcdev

As if the heat wasn’t bad enough a transformer blew up nearby and now the powers out ⚡️Yay… This weather needs to feck off soon or I’m moving into the freezer isle of Tescos ❄️

I got tired of searching for Udon info and built a reference for it out of the SDK and other sources. Hopefully others might find it useful as well. #udon #udonsharp #vrchat #vrc #usharp github.com/thevoidwolf/...

My honest take on the Steam Machine is that it's not mean to take on Playstation or the Xbox. It's a Trojan Horse for SteamOS. Think how many people looked at it, saw the price and said "I can build that for cheaper". Valve is in it for the long game here and platform matters more than hardware.

Progress update, I got my leg tracking working! The server rewrite is finally stabilising and becoming more usable. A long way to go yet and so many experiments to do but I'm one happy wolfie! When it's complete I'll make a full video on Youtube about it. Awoo! #slimevr #fbt #rust #fullbodytracking

So the magnetometers in official Slimes aren’t used but I’ve a mad idea of using the headset as a position reference and then walking the room to build a magnetic map of noise server side. A bit like how Roomba’s map rooms. Of course I’d have to solve for the controllers having magnets though 🤔

The map could help as a reference to mitigate yaw drift but no idea if it would be accurate enough or just more noise. Another mad idea would be to build magnetic beacons pulsing at a given frequency and known position. Inverse square law makes them weak at distance but a fun weekend DIY project .

Getting there slowly with the tracking server rewrite. So many gotchas but I'm learning so much! I modified the slime firmware to report angular velocity, rest/zero-velocity, as well as covariance so the server can weight per-tracker yaw trust and have more info. #slimevr #fbt #vrchat #furry

Spent last night playing around with building a Rust version of the SlimeVR server. Far from perfect or usable, but hey it got some kind of tracking data into VRChat 😂 I was thinking of using ML to enchance FBT tracking but right now let's just get the basics working. #slimevr #rust #vrchat #fbt

So many projects I should really work on again. Hyperfocus leaves a lot undone in its wake. Makes you feel like you never finish anything. The learning and fun while doing things is the valuable part though, so don't give up. You can always pick it up again and do even better. #hyperfocus #autism

We stopped by Bandit's Barcade last night in VR. There's something amazing about Arcades in VRChat that the real thing just can't capture. #furry #vrchat #arcade #vrc

Not often that I share my practice sketches on traditional but I did like how I did the hair in this one. I still need to figure out why my traditional style looks so massively different to my Digital art style. And how I can make my digital match up to it. #furryart #wickerbeast #traditionalart

I'm not normally one to ask for help or really advertise myself, but recent ZA fuel prices and car maintenance price increase might bankrupt me while I'm still searching for a job. Any little bit will help and I will try to get the comms done to the best I can as soon as I can.

It’s hard to even put into words how happy this art makes me. Happy tears and big tail wags! I love it and thank you so much Luna for not just the art but for being an amazing friend, one of many that helped we find my awooo again 💙💙💙 #furry #furryart #digitalart

Little gift art for @voidwolf.space based on an idea I got from his latest video. And in the time I've known you I'm happy to hear the happy noises you make in the group calls. #furry #furryart #digitalart
