So much bloat in them, too. AI just adds bells and whistles to create more LOC that do nothing but introduce additional points of failure. But more LOC more better, right?

I had to think of kkrieger a lot the past few months and how it would blow vibecoder brains if they actually understood what programming is. Shout out to the farbrausch guys.

Hm, I wonder if it's possible to slip in code in a dead branch of your game that convinces an AI disassembler it's essential but actually bricks the dev environment.

Its already happening and its gettinh worse, IMO this latest next fest might be a turning point kotaku.com/devs-behind-...

Then again, if your job title is "Cyber-" anything, you probably don't know a lot about computers unless you are engineering artificial limbs.

We're sorry to report that our online catalogue Borthcat has also fallen foul of the PHP vulnerability and is currently unavailable. We will continue to poke it with sticks until it revives and when it does we'll let you know!

"Someone reverse-engineered the number 4, possibly with AI-assisted techniques" is amazing. I imagine Claude servers glowing red-hot, the swarm completely stumped.

lol Yes, I may have essentially handed out fake keys to everyones home for a year, BUT: ✓ Nobody broke into MY house ✓ Nobody stole anything from MY house ✓ Nobody saw anything

"German authorities apprehended two members of the Turkish mafia who sabotaged a Polish control station for the satellite network (owned by the world's richest man with fingers in the US government) on behest of Russian intelligence as action against Ukraine" sounds like a Bond movie plot starter.

re: the PHP thing. After they patched the internet, you may want to change some of your passwords. Especially if you have accounts on "forums", which is a kind of social media for people over 40.

What could be more Halloween than a BAT? How about a bat colored like a JACK-O-LANTERN? Let's meet the Painted Bat (Kerivoula picta), also called the butterfly bat, native to SE Asia. 🦇🎃 (📷: MerlinTuttle.org)

details leaked. this vulnerability is a full unauthenticated unconditional remote code execution exploit against any service running on a PHP version from 5.4 until latest yeah if anything deserves CVSS 11, this is it. this is CATACLYSMICALLY bad.

nightshade →home, for now@nightshade.technology

oh it's bad. oh it's BAD bad. oh this is CATASTROPHIC, drop-whatever-you're-doing-and-patch-NOW levels of bad cert.europa.eu/publications...

Look, self-replicating agents are already out there. The hardware they're talking about has nowhere near enough resources to actually run shit, so it calls on data centers anyway. It's basically what Mirai was doing for years. This is probably just to scare people off yandexing their stuff.

In fact, having rogue agents ddos their data centers into heat death by token requests would be one of the funnier ways this all would play out, so I'm not holding my breath for it.
