as opposed as i (not a constituent nor a chapter member) was to endorsement, i agree w this completely. there hasn't been a clear argument for expulsion or imposed unendorsement (which isnt a thing we actually have a process for or have ever done) based on any existing policy, including r22

I’m furious because we have had to spend so many goddamn hours responding thoroughly to endless procedural inquiries from the damn NPC and they just decide to ignore and move the goalposts like always because it’s not about a real commitment to BDS or convention, it’s a petty revenge fantasy

The “something” in question was the workers themselves deciding by 1966 that they no longer wanted New Dealer welfare capitalism if it meant black Americans would benefit from it while anti-war protesters were free to burn the flag

Something happened in the 70's that crystallized politics (and many other topics) into a new set of assumptions and priors. It gave rise to Reaganism and completely crushed New Deal Socialism; Dems that eventually reemerged were and still are centrists scared of their own shadows.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Big tech has never been good for democracy but they've spent the last ~5 years pulling out all the stops to support outright fascists. It's gone beyond just algorithmic radicalization into straight up election interference, they have to get absolutely dismantled

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

I have written off all these people as unsalvageable morons a decade ago, it is truly incredible to see the worst people alive continue to be babied by national media

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Michael Fusella supported President Trump for nearly a decade. But as the Iran war drags on and the cost of living continues to climb, the 21-year-old Republican said he feels betrayed by a president who said he’d end overseas conflicts and lower prices.

Airbnb went from a cheap way to crash in a spare bedroom or rent a vacation house for a weekend and turned into "what if hotels openly hated you and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you give them hundreds of dollars to stay there, and also it's more expensive"

Caroline Haskins@carolinehaskins.bsky.social

Airbnb is banning its hosts from making guests do things like “stripping the bed, taking trash offsite, or washing and putting away dishes.” The hosts....are not taking it well: www.wired.com/story/airbnb...

Oh fun fact we also deployed using Railway, which hackers just stole env vars from. But even after we rotated all of our API and encryption keys, Railway *disabled new deploys* so we were forced to just take the website down

The codebase that I deal with at work was entirely vibecoded by my boss and it's such a hulking piece of shit it's utterly mindbending. One like = one horror story

Solid chance this tanks Railway, literally the only options they left their entire userbase were 1. Leave your website up and exposed 2. Take it down and redeploy when Railway gets their shit together (waiting over 12 hours at this point) We're gonna change providers and we only have like 50 users

I hope the rabid reactionaries who helped this shithead into office feel nothing but shame and humiliation for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately many are just too stupid to connect their actions with the consequences

Relax. It's only an issue if hackers have access to computers that can factor the number 4 quickly.

I'm very interested to see which Disco Elysium successors are good; the real strength of the game was its innovative presentation/storytelling, worldbuilding, story, and writing. Anyone can crib DE's presentation and systems, but you need a good storyteller to put lightning in the bottle

Apparently the scene from Memories of Murder where Song Kang-ho's character flying drop kicks Kim Sang-kyung's character was completely improvised. Yeah, you read that right youtu.be/ThCaszDZNiM

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.
