"Danielle Smith calls UCP a ‘federalist party’ after Alberta rejects separation"
That would have carried more weight if she said it before the vote. This sounds like someone who hedged their bet.

Got my notice that I can now book my flu and COVID vax appointment. Took only 30 seconds to book. I could have had an appointment as early as today, but figured it's more of a Monday thing.
Yay science!
On this day in 1993, Joe Carter hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the World Series for the Toronto Blue Jays at Skydome. They defeated the Philadelphia Phillies four games to two. It was the second-straight World Series title for the team.

Every accusation by the twice impeached convicted felon and his lickspittle sychophants is actually an admission; in this case, it's American meddling in Canadian politics. Most recently, it's a fact that there's American meddling behind Alberta separatism.

As Canada awaits the Alberta separation referendum results, let’s remember how stupid this all is. Huge public money spent on a Russian & American-fuelled separation movement for an awfully-written and badly managed unbinding referendum on whether to hold a binding referendum that would be illegal.
Emphasizing again that we cannot treat this as just business as usual. This is the President of the United States openly attacking an entire ethnic group.
Trump: "You go up to Minnesota -- number one place in the entire country for the sale of Mercedes-Benz. And Somalians are buying them. They come here with low IQs and no money and they get rich. Do we feel stupid? Our fraud division is getting them all."
I lack confidence in the 2-sided ballot for the @cityofrichmondbc.bsky.social municipal election. The pen we were required to use bled through to the other side. Luckily, none of the candidates I chose were on the flip side of candidates I did not want. #bcpoli@electionsbc.bsky.social
❗❗❗Mark Zuckerberg's meta just suspended the No Kings Instagram account. I just rushed back from my local No Kings to jump on this.
Bottom line, would be helpful for all pro-No Kings folks to elevate the issue and help us get the word out about No Kings today. The Nerd Reich strikes again.
Fucking terrifying: "We're monitoring it, we're evaluating it and if some of it becomes election interference then America will respond to it," Hoekstra said. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...
Today on my podcast Canadian History Ehx: The Canadian Caper!
In 1979-80, Canadians, led by Ambassador Ken Taylor, hid six Americans and helped them escape Iran.
This is the true story, not the Argo story.

After seeing Vancouver as a showcase for the start of the race, the best part of Season 39 of The Amazing Race has been the complete lack of Big Brother contestants!
So sick of The Amazing Race shoving Big Brother contestants down my throat, so I am really not happy to see an all-Big Brother season of TAR. If I wanted to watch Big Brother, I'd watch it, but I don't. 😠
You'd think an MLA and Attorney General would have a better grasp of how the Westminster parliamentary system works. My guess is she's being disingenuous to score political points amongst those who don't.
I am thoroughly disappointed with School District 38 of the @cityofrichmondbc.bsky.social and its wholesale uniform makeover of its elementary school websites. The new pages are bland, lacking information, and less easy to navigate. It's like Soviet Brutalism architecture as web design.
I was in grade eight when I learned about the University of Sopron forestry students and was fascinated by their story, so when I ended up at UBC I was happy to come across the mementos of their presence.
Some drivers whine like toddlers at any hint of inconvenience, and media treats their whining with respect.
Having to drive a couple of blocks out of one’s way is not hard. This does not constitute imprisonment.
From the “why even try?“ school of thought.
They keep talking about this like going back to the old status quo with America is an option. Since it isn’t, it means they really want Canada to surrender.
Today is the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances.
114,000 Ukrainians are missing. Behind every number is a family still waiting.
For over a decade, russia has abducted Ukrainians and hidden their fate.
We remember them. We keep fighting to bring them home.
The Enterprise enters a slipstream wormhole, almost breaks the warp-speed barrier, and no one comments "ludicrous speed"? Missed opportunity. 😋 #StarTrek#StrangeNewWorlds
I loved the encore of Cyndi Lauper's farewell tour last year, when she incorporated a tribute to Yayoi Kusama into her performance of Girls Just Want to Have Fun.
The FDA just approved daraxonrasib, a breakthrough drug for advanced pancreatic cancer that doubles survival time.
This is huge: pancreatic cancer was once thought untreatable.
The researchers received a standing ovation when they presented the trial results, unheard of at scientific conferences.
