Gloria Steinem showed generations of us what a more equal world could look like. She built the road there, brick by brick, march by march, for over sixty years. My deepest condolences to everyone who loved her, and my deepest gratitude for everything she gave the rest of us.

I think it would be cool to merge retirement homes, children’s homes, and animal shelters. A community where older people teach young children about life and take care of abandoned animals together. I bet it would do wonders for everyone involved.

Do any Republicans in Congress care about Trump grabbing oil from Venezuela, handing it off to his megadonors to sell on the international market to whoever, depositing the proceeds in foreign bank accounts, then spending the money however he sees fit with no input from Congress?

They’re using American tax dollars to fund infrastructure in Argentina because that’s where they’re all going to flee when we kick them out of office

Ryan Grim@ryangrim.bsky.social

After announcing a $20 billion bailout of Argentina, the White House now says it's pausing $18 billion in funding for NYC infrastructure projects Russ Vought would love nothing more than to tear this country down to its studs

There are a lot of reasons to be embarrassed about this, but the thing that jumps out to me is that this is how you use a bookshelf when you're illiterate.

Terrific work as always from @pbump.com

Philip Bump@pbump.com

Late last night I mapped crime rates for cities in OH, SC and WV to show how often they exceeded the rate in DC — where those states’ governors are sending National Guard troops to “combat crime.” www.pbump.net/o/more-peopl...

how many hours of tv does the president watch a day

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Mehmet Oz: "It is reprehensible to criticize the president on this I think very earnest effort to save Medicaid ... an able-bodied person on Medicaid today watches about 6.1 hours of television or just hangs out -- leisure time. That's a lot of time."

Ex-farm worker here. We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing. Not true AT ALL. Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are. The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour. At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

This is really frustrating because the city just kicked in **more** money to buy **more** “cottages” (8'x8' collapsible shelters). How are there still that many people in tents?

WUSF@wusf.org

Severe weather earlier this month flooded 12 empty cottages and damaged 71 tents at Tampa Hope. The homeless shelter offers temporary shelter and other supportive services to residents experiencing homelessness. Read more: www.wusf.org/weather/2025...

Yeah my job is pretty cool. My uniform is a tactical vest that’s two sizes too small and a gaiter I bought in a gas station. They send me to sneak into schools to kidnap little kids because people got mad about having to press 1 for English. The president had to warn everyone to stop spitting on me.
