"A dinner at a friend’s place is tangible. I am able to go, accept their hospitality, thank them, and leave. Yet, how do I experience the grace and love of God when it often feels more abstract? That one is harder for me to answer. In my good moments I know to trust in God’s promises." Read more 🔗

"To love our neighbors as ourselves, we must see ourselves woven into the same fabric of humanity. There can only be us. There can only be the all-encompassing family of God. Within this love, there is no use for the words others, them, strangers, & foreigners. We are all siblings." From Chapter 12

"I love the idea that my life and what I do can bring creation closer to God. It feels like a big responsibility. It feels like a grand calling. Looking back at the work I’ve been involved in, there are common threads tying it all together." A Meditation on Chp 10 of our Way of Life by Jordan Prins

A Lectionary Meditation for our Week "It was Peter that flat-out rejected what must come. Imagine pulling Jesus aside to rebuke Him shortly after you proclaimed Him to be the Christ & Messiah. God had allowed Peter the faith to see Jesus as the Christ & the Son of Man. Peter could not yet see..."
A Meditation on Chapter 17 of our Way of Life. Jesus meets me with a gentle, gracious love every time I succeed & every time I fail. Yet I don’t always meet myself with that same gentle response. How wonderful would that be, where each time I failed, I gave myself the love & grace Jesus does? 🔗 👇

I really enjoyed writing this one. I hope it encourages you to invite God to see things in new ways.
"The ways Simon Peter’s senses were experiencing Jesus in the moment of his Christological confession were not different from weeks or years earlier... The way that Peter was experiencing the world had not changed, but our God had done something within him." Read Paul's weekly meditation 🔗

"One of the things I hope for is to experience the Fruit of the Spirit naturally flowing out of me, into the depths of the world. To embody parts of who Jesus is at his core, and to share those things with those around me." A Meditation on Chapter 15 of our Way of Life by Jordan Prins 👇

My meditation on this weeks Gospel reading from Matthew 15 - the Canaanite Woman of Faith. I know these 8 minutes reading it will bless you and encourage you for the week.
A Weekly Lectionary Meditation One thing about who the Canaanite woman was made her an outsider. Yet, Jesus saw through this & saw her when His world did not. He accepted her. Jesus saw me and accepted me. She knelt before Jesus and asked for mercy so that someone she loved would be healed.

"I want to be a strong tower whose faith doesn’t falter, but mine does. It falters a lot. It feels fickle because my faith in God is held in my hands. My faith is held by my weakness. So I cry out to the Lord to save me." Read @paul.urbanmonastic.org's Weekly Meditation 👇

Every year I continue to learn new ways of seeing His compassion at work in myself & in our world. Every year His compassion becomes more miraculous. There are even moments where I am invited to be a conduit for the compassion of Christ. A Lectionary Meditation for our 18th Week of Ordinary Time 👇

My weekly meditation is up. I love that the gospels tell us again and again that Jesus looked upon the crowds and felt compassion for them. That detail about Him has informed and defined so much of my approach to ministry. It is in this weeks gospel reading, and it made it into the title as well.
