Absolutely rizzless. Dripn't, if you will. I'm trying to figure this all out, but I'm still here for you. I block AI on sight, no exceptions.

There are two types of software analysts working at hospitals. Those who are in office from 5am to 9pm and those who are always out of office. Weirdly, both are always working.

Dentist signed off on me four days ago. Things look so good, I'm doing great. Today? Gum recession went wild on my molar and it's not looking good.

Refreshed my Youtube page one last time for the night. An artist I looooved in my formative Internet years who I haven't seen doing much publicly since then uploaded something neat? Oh shit! It's the sloppiest AI. This is going to weigh on me for a long time.

i think it kind of makes sense that at the cusp of a lot of horrible people losing power in this world they'd tear at the seams of what serves the public well. you're also underestimating what people are capable of rebuilding, and doing it better if those systems break back up your files please

I am of so many minds over the Bioware thing. But the main one that bubbles up to the top is that this sucks. Mindless organizations just keep getting away with throwing away peoples' lives.

I just looked at hard drive prices for the first time in a long while. These prices will never come down now but I still await the downfall just so I can see the worst people suffering. Who am I kidding, they won't suffer meaningfully. I have noticed they are immune.

I've matured in my work communication skills. When someone above my pay grade is explaining something to me but doesn't use any sort of grammar structure to declare a subject, I don't try to chase their meaning. I just leave it be. Anything I reply with will just insult them.

"Did you hit the box?" "What box?" "The box on the submission form." "I didn't use a form, I wasn't involved." "Well next time you have one, the box autofills once you select an option from the dropdown." I still don't know what box or form he's talking about.

"They doxxed the Prodigy crab" is something that will forever live in my brain

One time I managed to find the exact spot where that photo was taken on google maps

Barely slept, gonna have a rough week of work. Got vaxxed anyway. It's important, dammit. My soul may leave my body by tomorrow. I hope I get some sleep.

Update and clarity: the thing I always warn my higher ups at work about happened again after they swore it wouldn't happen. And it's way, way worse than anyone previously would admit to. My job/company will not exist in two years.

I posted originally when I was first realizing and I was _very_ angry about it. Now I've got a clear head and some rest in me. And I'm still in disbelief.

Last time I rewatched my favorite anime, I got laid off partway through it. Going through my first rewatch since then with a friend online. It's been incredible. But I do got that creeping dread.

We finished the original series last night. My friend looked up the sequel and was only finding information on a movie I'd never heard of. I guess they did a movie to summarize the sequel series? What the eff? Nobody even liked it!

I've seen a lot of programmers really disrespect themselves thinking that genAI is "fine" when it comes to coding or w/e because it's not "art" Programming is an art. It requires creativity. And you're literally programming graphics, it's visual art. It's just art. It counts. AI coding is AI "art"

Is there an nVidia driver for Debian or Fedora that doesn't brick the install? I've tried a dozen times over 2 years and never had it work.

It reeks of corporate consultant stuff. Things that may help flow as a business but is a waste of time for anyone below upper management.

Struggled so hard with a single... thing. For a month. Rewrote it in about 5 minutes today, from the ground up. Worked perfectly. Step one of about fifty done.

Had a conversation with someone during PGX about niche projects to recreate lost experiences with technology. Weather Channel in his case, Uniqlock in my case. It was inspiring in looking forward at the project I've obsessed over for years now. But I'm staring at this code again, paralyzed.

people that make AI videos are going to super hell, but people that make AI videos specifically of just animals doing random things are going to hell 64

Just got a surprise email at work. A person I have several tech support cases open with is leaving her organization. I imagine with the soft handoff, she found a better job. Who the hell hired her? Why can she find better but my very talented friends can't find a single IT job worth shit?

One of my largest frustrations is my professional life. And the professional lives of my good friends. We're a talented pool. We know what we're doing. We're dying here.

It's hard to compare one game company hosting an MMO to another. But I remember when they made my favorite game of all time free to play. It was the beginning of the end. A year later, it was gone. My heart breaks for this. Hey, at least FFXI will go on without if it comes to it. Mine didn't.

Ayo, Duck Duck Go... in a world where 80% of search engine results are AI blogspam, why are you limiting me to only blocking 5 websites from results? Yeah, I can add in a -site:blahblah.whatever for every single search but like... no? I really hate 2026.

I wrote an algorithm in C# that does something very simple with a picture. Something so simple that I can't believe I can't figure out how to produce the same effect in GIMP.
