Instructional technologist. Other topics I care about: politics (on your left), books (crime, SF, horror, lit), TV, wrestling (AEW, CMLL, fuck WWE), tech, probably other stuff. 3 cats, 1 dog. Chihuahua is smaller than any of the cats. Also, fuck ICE

Aww, Susan Saint James died. Both Kate & Allie and Love at First Bite were formative pieces of media for me growing up. Also, I only just learned that she was the aunt of Christa Miller (from Scrubs and Cougar Town).

Cagematch has this at 3.25 and the worst match on that night's card. A card that includes a 9.28 match between Bianca Belair, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley.

Maya, Hyan, Aminata, Dani, and Mina could make a fantastic team. Tony, I fucking triple dog dare you to run a three-team, fifteen-woman Blood and Guts match. #AEW

This is bad logic and a disappointing response on her part. While people do snark at AI when it's not good, the actual hatred is for the ethical issues around it. If people see it and the animation is amazing, that changes nothing.

Ava DuVernay's 14th, about the 14th Amendment, uses AI to animate old photos that are in the public domain, and the filmmaker wants people to see the documentary for themselves before deciding how they feel about it. tinyurl.com/c6nj6vf7

In fairness to Matt, he lives in an alternate universe where the actions of one country have absolutely no impact on any other ones. At least, I'm assuming that's the case. Otherwise, he's a moron.

Yes well it does require things like “empathy” and possessing a basic understanding that all of our lives are interconnected

The @file770.bsky.social thing just gets weirder. A week ago over on the Nazi site (which, yeah), Mike was trolling JDA about WFC. Or maybe the entire thing was just an act? Anyway, now he's leaked via a friend (instead of posting himself) that he's "taking a break."

That was just ten minutes after his only public post on the topic, calling someone here "passive-aggressive" for not wanting to associate with him now.

Loving some of the small moments in Crystal Lake - Will Catlett's delivery here was perfect. (Also loving the big moments, of course).

The musical guests on SNL UK are a band called Blossoms, and they are not, it turns out, an alcohol-free version of the band that did "Hey Jealousy."

Heard a noise coming from above the dining room and was worried that a small animal might be in our storage/crawl space. Nope. Just a woodpecker right below the gutter. I gently suggested that it go somewhere else. (Picture awful because I had to lean all the way against the window to even see it.)

Thing I find baffling: John Daly, a man known to have a gambling addiction, being the spokesperson for Modo, an online casino. (Daly's also a terrible person, but that's got nothing to do with this particular thing.)

"The Last Outfit" is the "Mina Shirakawa's new theme music" of faction names, and hopefully will last as long. #AEWCollision

When you see an account pulling shit like this (this is someone who wrestled one Dark match six years ago) for engagement, that's why Bluesky has a block button.

Hey Somerville... Guess what?  WE BOUGHT THE BUILDING. The Somerville Theatre now belongs to the people who run it. Buying it was our leap of faith. Supporting it is where you come in. Find how you can help: somervilletheatre.com/future

Sorting through my Apple Music library (which, thanks to 25 years worth of iTunes imports, is bloated AF) for dupes, and I don't think the explicit tag and the asterisks here are in agreement.

Total respect for NBC's Monica Alba, who asked Trump exactly the question he needs to answer. By refusing to answer, and attacking her, he has effectively told the world that no, sexual abuse allegations do no mean a thing to him. Imagine if she wasn't there. We'd be the poorer for it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

So if the Supreme Court says that anything on ballots that can cause confusion like the Alaska one should be thrown out, does that mean Al Gore automatically becomes President?

I used to think that the Cleveland Browns just supported sexual assault against adults, but turns out they support it against minors as well.

Ramaswamy has produced an attack ad weaponizing the rape of his opponent, Amy Acton, when she was 12 years old. It features Acton’s mother, who abandoned Acton after she was raped by her step-father, fleeing the state with her husband. Here is the corporate money helping fund that ad.

Professional Republicans are creeps who want to inspect your kids’ genitals. Never, ever vote for a Republican.

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention.

Anyone who hasn't read George Alec Effinger's The Zork Chronicles has missed a fucking treat. And the vampire Geneviève appeared in Kim Newman's Warhammer books before Anno Dracula.

Writing tie-ins is *a real fucking skill* and anyone who sneers at the people who do it can go piss up a rope. You think it's easy to write an entire novel to very specific order on an almost impossibly tight deadline? And have it be satisfying to read? Motherfucker, *you* try it. See how you do.

At this point, I 100% believe that "what the fuck is wrong with you?" is a completely legitimate question for a reporter to ask Trump.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 Trump snaps at another reporter: "Hey! I don't know who the hell you are but you better be careful"

I gripe about the @mbta.com's gross incompetence with the 73 bus a lot, but that's because I've never seen - in fifty years and three transit systems, a more mismanaged bus route.

What they lack in management they also lack in customer service, so at least you never know specifically why things are fucked on any given day.

Everyone's ragging on him, but he obviously just misspoke. He meant to say "Lusitania."
