I don't know who ran justactiverecord.com because I loved it but it's fully down now. It seems the domain is free, so I bought it and am going to reinstate the wonderful meme there. If you're the original author and owner - hit me up.

More than 8 months later, I finally managed to put some thoughts about the passing of my dear friend Piotr into a post. Grief is tough. Remembering Piotr @chastell.net Szotkowski pragtob.wordpress.com/2026/04/12/r...

Privatisation is always the same. Service reduces, investment becomes minimal… profit increases. No one wins apart from shareholders. Successful privatisation in the UK: … … … *tumbleweed* Unsuccessful: ❌ Water ❌ Energy ❌ Rail (service, tracks) ❌ Post
Royal Mail can deliver 2nd letters every other weekday and not on Saturdays. RM doesn't meet targets. Price Now: Ist class stamp £1.70; 2nd class 87p. When privatised in 2013: 1st class 60p; 2nd class 50p. How long before 2nd class post vanishes? Email damaged RM, privatisation destroyed it.

GitHub managed to make the files changed tab slower than it was before. This is astoundingly bad. 6 seconds to load the top of the page. 10 seconds to register hovering over a link. If you switch away to another tab and switch back, you need to wait about 2 seconds for it to render again. 🧵
Reviewing large pull requests just got a major upgrade. Try out our faster, more accessible Files changed tab—now in public preview. Click “✨Try the new experience” in the upper-right corner of any pull request. (You can switch back at any time!) Comment your feedback here. ⬇️ gh.io/new-files-ch...
