While I have no love for Arsenal's style of football, Rice surely should have been Top 10 for the Ballon d'or right? If Gabriel hadn't gotten done by Haaland in the World Cup, he'd probably be in there as well.

I think Kane is a deserving winner of the Ballon d'or, and the difference between 1st and 8th (Haaland), is probably as narrow in terms of on the pitch accomplishments as it's ever been.

ICE said Antonio Moreida jumped onto the hood of their vehicle. Now a local police investigation concludes that an ICE agent struck him with his SUV. The routine lying by ICE is the result of the example set by leadership of the Department of Homeland Security.

sacbee.comPolice dispute ICE’s account of Woodland collision: ‘Inconsistent’ with videoWoodland police said video evidence contradicted ICE’s claims that man jumped onto an agent’s SUV.

Poor tactics and bad execution on an early match at Villa was a bad combination. Other than Ndiaye and Anderson (spare a few overhit balls), everyone could have done better.

Feel really great for Rico Lewis. Pace and physicality of the Prem has likely passed him by at a top level, but there's still so much quality. So grateful he got his moment at the Etihad.

Brad Lander is a real one.

The coalition is bringing people together from around the world to help Palestinian farmers harvest olives in the face of state-sanctioned settler terrorism.

No Erling, Nunes, NOR, Kova, and of course Semenyo. Still should have plenty of firepower. RW and RB will the most interesting selection choices. I'd probably opt for Allan at RW (bring on McAidoo later) and Lewis at RB.

Hoping Semenyo will get some needed rest and can regain form once back in eight weeks. In the meantime, finding some more minutes for Allan, McAidoo, and Foden will be good for the squad long term*.

In a classified briefing, a DoD official revealed to Senators how much Iranian attacks on U.S. bases have cost us. Now, I'm calling for the DoD to make that number public. Americans deserve to know how much of their money is being burned on Trump's war with Iran.

Thought we'd go with Kova + Foden for the midweek fixture. Hope we're not underestimating Ipswich.

Phil is back and Ayyoub does indeed start. Now I just have to trust Enzo and City.

Luis Enrique sticks up for Man City over the 114 guilty verdicts, says he hopes it ends well for them and that they shouldn't be stripped of their titles: www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

I don't expect it's realistic to expect commentary around City this season to be normal, but I do sincerely hope the hyperbole will get turned down a little bit in the next few weeks. Otherwise it's going to be exhausting for everyone.

Watch an ICE agent run down and then run over a man. The man was was then writhing on the ground, saying "You broke my leg! You broke my leg!" Agents didn't help him. And btw, the man wasn't the target of their operation.

Harris County TX. He's hospitalized: "ICE claimed the man ran in front of the agents' vehicle and was struck. However, the surveillance video appears to show the SUV veering left through empty parking spaces before running the man over..." abc7.com/story/ice-ru...

Gravenberch shouldn't have put himself in that situation, but that seemed soft for a second yellow IMO. I'd feel a bit hard done by as a Liverpool fan, even independent of all the other noise.

Finally watched the Spurs/Utd highlights, and refereeing is so broken. Bentancur and Van Hecke both have red worthy tackles, but the major discipline only happens after Shaw runs up to blindside push Bentancur (yellow), and when Bentancur does a Gabriel headbutt, it's a red because Shaw "flops"

So basically the hardest blindside shove that knocks you to the ground isn't violent conduct, but a headbutt action that's exactly the same as one done last year that wasn't a red because the opponent didn't flop now has to be a red? If your only answer is "that's just how it is" that's the problem
