Nine days after 1.2, EmDash 1.3 is out. Every saved version now shows exactly what changed, and your live site gets the admin's editing tools. One switch also asks AI crawlers not to train on your content. Here's what's new!

News that is relevant to a significant proportion of Cloudflare employees: Automattic, through their 'Knock Knock WHOIS There' registry subsidiary, have applied for the rights to a new gTLD, .matt 🙃

This opens up the opportunity for me to get taylor. tk.matt Which, in reverse notation would be  matt. tk.taylor Shame I'd have to run a WordPress site on it though. 🤭

cf cli has been in open beta for 10 days, and in that time we're up to beta-13! Here's a little of what we've landed since launch... Protected tunnels: you can now lock tunnels to those you invite through CF Access.

And a ton of little bug fixes and launches: 1) Commands for K2, Cloudflare's serverless event streams, and Monetisation Gateway. 2) cf workers versions profiles for CPU and heap profiling 3) cf deploy --no-provision to not provision new resources ...

And more 4) Agent sessions and metrics in cf o11y 5) cf init works on pnpm 11 setting you up for post-install scripts 6) Dry runs redact secrets on return (as they would in prod) 7) Redeploys keep remote secrets you don't pass npm i -g cf@latest More to come!

We have cf sql query to search through all of your Cloudflare analytics in the terminal. Throw this at your agent and let it browse HTTP traffic, Workers logs, and more, all returned in JSON.

Did you know Cloudflare launched soft purge last week too? Of course you can do it via the cf cli Purge a piece of content with cf cache purge Soft purge with cf cache invalidate

Open plugin registries have a hard problem: anyone can publish, but not everything should be discoverable. Here's how EmDash uses the new Cloudflare Clef model in an Atproto labeler to screen every listing without giving up open publishing

Five days after 1.1, EmDash 1.2 is here! A redesigned editor, video blocks, numbered pages, domain moves and one-command upgrades. Here's what's new.

I've built Halfhour, an Android app for Octopus Energy Agile and other smart tariffs: half-hourly prices, the cheapest time to run things, and your own usage priced on every Octopus tariff. I need 12 testers on Google Play to publish it. Testers get forever free: halfhour.tk.gg?from=bluesky...

And – though I had very little to do with this – I'm very proud of what @mk.gg and the team around @emdashcms.com have created. This can genuinely now be the 'spiritual successor to WordPress', the team have built a prototype into a real 1.0 product. blog.cloudflare.com/emdash-cms-p...

blog.cloudflare.comEmDash 1.0: the stable CMS with a secure plugin registryEmDash 1.0 is a stable, open source CMS built for Astro, with agent-friendly workflows, secure sandboxed plugins, and a decentralized registry that keeps publishers in control.

The coolest thing, of course, with EmDash 1.0 is that @mk.gg has managed to lever atproto into it. EmDash plugins are decentralised, published and downloaded from atproto. It's a really awesome system. WordPress community members will remember the ACF plugin fiasco. That is just not possible here.

So hype

I'm going to be launching something pretty big next week, which just happens to include a new atproto AppView, labeler, blob proxy, lexicons. It will have tens of thousands of users, most of whom won't even know they're using atproto, or have even heard of it.

I've just added an MCP to an agent-simulator I've built to sandbox a bunch of different harnesses and play around with CLI improvements. And I'm so regretful I didn't do this earlier. Forms, even chat interfaces, in tools are so dead. The harness is the universal interface.

Teaching myself that the best interface I have is voice dictating into a box at the bottom of a monospaced terminal, when I have spent so much of my life enjoying pleasant and effortful UI design has been a challenge. But I'm learning to accept it.

Worrying scenes in the Channel today, for all interested in asylum policy and maritime tactics. A small boat from Normandy spent more than 30 hours at sea. Those on board now on their 2nd rescue vessel as Border Force forced to play cat and mouse with far-right activists who have their own boat.

Well that was the dumbest preemptive alert ever. Remember all that messaging about the test because of the fear of hidden phones being discovered. Did "the possibility of wildfires" meet that bar?

Android users who are annoyed by ads in push notifications: have you gone through the effort of trying to work out which notification channel is which, have you just turned off notifications entirely, or do you live with it in some way?

Can you guys fix the bug where logging into the app immediately sets my dms settings to "no one"? I love the app but I like keeping my DMs open
