I can't help feeling like we are 100% cooked, but I know there are those of us who will go down swinging nonetheless. This is Democracy's Thermopylae. Perhaps we can buy enough time for our fellow citizens and elected officials to pull their heads out of their collective asses before it's too late.

Some amazing experimental work on #Roman glass here Love the quote from Dr Lisa Hollands: “If the Romans could have seen me experimenting, they’d probably laugh and ask: ‘Why does she not know how to make this?’” - I think this would be the case! #AncientBlueSky www.theguardian.com/science/2026...

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

80 hours of embroidery! This aerial landscape is directly inspired by Dartmoor and I'd say I have another 30-ish hours to go? I'm now starting to fill in the fields for the sheep, the tor area will be done last as I'm still deciding whether I want a slope or not 😅 I hope you like it! #art

I was an awkward looking teen. I had braces all throughout high school and I wore big glasses. Boys used to call me Eliza Thornberry 😒. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized Tim Curry was the voice of Nigel Thornberry, Eliza’s dad. So with this connection, it makes his death even more sad.

A billionaire can write off a private jet as a business expense, but a teacher can't write off the crayons she bought for her classroom. A CEO can deduct a $500 steak dinner, but a nurse can't deduct the scrubs she's required to wear. Tax code might be upside down. Priorities man 🤦🏽‍♂️

Come for the impossible Robin Hood-level shot. Stay for the guy blasting himself in the junk with a confetti cannon.

There is so much I going on here

I keep saying I don't think he's going to win the nomination because of this and many other reasons

Looks like Gavin Newsom is going to bat for California Forever, the Network State "tech utopia" project backed by Marc Andreessen and other tech billionaires. 70% of local residents oppose it. But the billionaires hired Newsom's favorite lobbyist. Welcome to Sacramento. nypost.com/2026/07/29/u...

#TodayInHistory: #OnThisDay in 1966, the New York Central Railroad broke the American rail speed record with its experimental M-497 railcar. Nicknamed the “Black Beetle,” the M-497 was a marvel of engineering. It was able to reach a speed of 183.68 mph, becoming America’s first high-speed train.

I'm always locked in on what's happening politically and on top of the latest happenings, but I decided not to watch the speech or any coverage of it because all that can come of it is getting more upset over the same shit he's already said. There's no point. We already know what we must do.

Just more horrors. Cops kill another dog while searching for someone not even at the home they were at. A highly trained service dog was not a threat to police but that doesn't matter, they killed her anyway. Why do cops do this? Less paperwork then killing people? www.wsbtv.com/news/local/c...
