Chara joined Portland when I was a freshman in high school... I'm 30 now

Tom Bogert@tombogert.bsky.social

A press conference for Portland Timbers and MLS legend Diego Chara is set for Monday. Chara, 40, has made 508 appearances since joining the Timbers in 2011, including 25 this year. He holds the MLS record for most starts for one team and won MLS Cup 2015. 👑

My review of the Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer and DMZ is live at @butwhytho.net Multiplayer is crunchier and much more "normal" compared to Black Ops, and DMZ is an absolute blast. Collateral is my new favorite game mode too (think Counter-Strike but CoD). butwhytho.net/2026/10/call...

I had to check twitter for something work related and I genuinely do not understand how people still use that hellsite. It's completely dystopian, detached from reality. Just utter garbage all down the timeline and that's just 15 seconds on the home feed.

Kyle Foley
@kylefoleywrites.com

It's also... all bullshit? Just republican lies or AI slop post after post after post. There is no value to that at all! BlueSky people can suck, but you can just mute them and create your feed. Twitter just throws garbage at you all day by design!

Hell yeah, go Brewers imo

I have 3 "careers," all of which are contracted or freelance work, and if I don't work 12-16 hours a day I can't pay rent, which is truly a lovely system. I love what I do, genuinely, it's just such a messed up world.

Garrett Martin@garrettmartin.bsky.social

what’s cool about freelancing is that you can work constantly and still make very little money

A little video from the warmup lot yesterday. Kids took 2nd in percussion, which is impressive because we aren't a competitive band. No electronics, no writing geared towards a score, just kids making kickass music. So unbelievably proud of this group!

It's a beautiful day for marching band competition

Another clip, this one of our ballad. Kids are already working their tails off this week with our Music Performance Assessment on Saturday. I love getting to work with this group, every day is an absolute blast. Never had such a hard-working group of kids before

Also just wild that this is as young of a group as it is playing this well. 3 senior 0 juniors 11 sophomores 7 freshmen They're excited to keep building up the future, helping our feeders, etc, so this is going to be sustainable. A 10-year dream finally becoming reality after the COVID setback

Hey, here's my review! I really appreciated the Modern Warfare 4 campaign. It gets surprisingly deep (for a CoD game) into what succumbing to violence costs (for Price) and why we fight for things we care about (for Park and co). A few meh moments, but overall very much a return to form.

But Why Tho?@butwhytho.net

Looking forward to a full day of marching band competition today. This is the last segment of our show this year, the kids are absolutely tearing it up. So unbelievably proud of my drumline and front ensemble kids, year 10 has been the best yet. Time to finish strong.

I had the chance to play Modern Warfare 4 this past week, my full reviews for the campaign and multiplayer/DMZ for @butwhytho.net are coming. Campaign is really good. I had a few minor quibbles, but the focus on how war/violence changes people is really well done. Not life changing, but very solid!

In LA for work so only caught bits and pieces of the Orlando City game but it's wild to me that a team this bad structurally is going to somehow make the playoffs, maybe steal a win, and have people pretending they're good because they play "exciting" soccer

Kyle Foley

"we score goals because we're allergic to defending and just send everyone forward" is not a good strategy, actually. Crazy, I know! But Perelman will get the full time job and they'll do this for another few months next year before it crashes and burns spectacularly, wasting a year of Griezmann.

This was always the vibe I got, so I'm glad the stats back it up. Heat is oppressive, especially in Florida. For fans: you can bundle up and be fine in the cold. You can't do similar for heat. NFL fans treat subzero games as an amazing thing, and those games are so much longer. You'll live!

Yesterday, La Murga de Austin - the volunteer band that provides the soundtrack to every Austin FC home game - walked out of the stadium and called out the club for its silence around ICE activities in Austin. Amazing.

One disappointment down, now for UCF to let me down. Only down 3 heading into the 4th, odds are they lose by at least 10

Manchester United and UCF games overlapping today means the 12-3 time slot is pure sicko mode for me today
