UGH so we got upgraded to a Jeep Wrangler for the weekend and FUCK ME I get the appeal of them 😩 It's this tall, terrible-driving, tiny car that is somehow a truck that demands you pay attention to the road because of its short wheelbase, but it feels like you are playing with a Tonka truck irl

I feel like a lot of our discourse problems could be solved if specialists in a wide variety of fields would not just speak to each other, but listen and understand (and embody!) concerns far outside their field and understand the 3-steps-and-more removed effects of their work, and who could benefit

One thing he brings up early on for prospective students is changing perspective on your education not being about you, but what insights you can provide to society. What value you can provide to your community that's far more broad than your collaborators and colleagues in a university.
