You don't claim benefits based on your diagnosis you claim benefits based on how your illness or disability affects your ability to do daily tasks like wash and dress yourself and leave the house. Dickheads.

“Healey should remove anxiety and depression as a reason to claim benefits and offer people treatment instead. It would be better for the individuals and a fraction of the cost.” Read more: trib.al/cxsKwxw

Surprised to hear Lisa Nandy had a high profile.

Lisa Nandy’s the latest high-profile departure from X: should schools leave the platform too? Here’s what the attorney general told @cerysturner.bsky.social in an exclusive interview: www.tes.com/magazine/new...

University of Nottingham, right now, is cutting 560 jobs. Do we need to rebrand universities as very large, very clean, land-based oil rigs to get government support?

Leo Hickman@leohickman.carbonbrief.org

From the govt's press release: "The developer estimates that Jackdaw will create 27 new direct jobs and safeguard 273 existing jobs that would otherwise be lost." Odd that so much is made about this being good for jobs. Your nearest out-of-town supermarket likely generates more jobs.

The Aberfan disaster was one of the events which led a few years later to the formation of the Health and Safety Executive. So remember when you hear some twat moaning about health and safety that this is what is allowed to happen when it's not taken seriously

Berlin cops raided a queer health centre yesterday evening, during a regular social gathering for trans women, under allegations that people were sharing medication. If anyone’s wondering how that whole “we protect queer lives” thing is going. taz.de/Durchsuchung...

5 episodes of this so far, theyre treating it like a soap opera whilst decent public service stuff on Radio 4 gets cut.

Absolute state of the analysis on the world at one - There's been a centrist president for nearly a decade but it's all the fault of the far left and how "polarised" the country is. #radio4 #worldatone #wato

More than 100 of us Jewish and Palestinian activists, were in the village of Al-Maniya in the West Bank, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian community and helping harvest olives. The village has faced violent attacks from settlers nearby.

It is worth reminding ourselves that until last year that racist Birmingham politician featured in the ITV expose on Reform had been a Tory Cllr for 10 years before defecting.

Being a trans man in the UK: your colleagues don't have to treat you as a man, you can't use men's facilities, if you look too much like a man you can't use women's facilities either, on your deathbed the NHS will put you in a "third space" of some kind, whatever that is (probably not great).

You only get the third space (sideroom?) if there isn't already someone terminally ill, highly infectious or otherwise needing segregating in there sorry.

‼️ Bradford's City of Sanctuary status has been saved! 🟢 Green councillors were proud to vote against Reform's divisive motion to scrap the Council's City of Sanctuary status at Bradford Full Council meeting tonight. Refugees and asylum seekers are welcome in Bradford 🙏

I really don't understand who - whichever Janet McTerfface wrote this - thinks is going to wipe her elderly mums bum in the near future.

The main AfD account posts about once a day on Twitter, and view counts for recent stuff look within normal range. They also last posted *before* these data centres were struck, making a comparison literally impossible?

Gabriele Svelto@gabrielesvelto.mas.to.ap.brid.gy

I double-checked this on a couple of Xitter stat sites and it's true. Average views of the main AfD account dropped 90% and average engagement dropped by 60%. This is commercial social media for you: bots, damn bots and Russian bots.

This is really sad but as the article notes because the small nose cannisters have been outlawed people gave switched to the huge catering ones.

Well I've been in quite a mental health slump but I've found a TV show where Jonathan Bailey has some great sex so that's cheered me up.

#TheArchers "... places where we can just be anonymous." Like Felpersham's singers club? Careful you don't bump in Vince and yer Mum there.

It sometimes feels like our entire political and media class devote their lives to telling us we can't have nice things whilst hoping we don't notice that other countries can have nice things and the sky hasn't fallen in.

As Andy Burnham decides to make pensioners poorer instead of taxing the mega-rich or rejoining the EU, a reminder of how the UK compares with the rest of Western Europe on pensions.

It would be great if FBPErs could not use small boats as argument for rejoining the EU especially if they're speaking to Reform/Restorer/ generally racist people.

Weird how we can instantly arrest the peaceful protesters on the most extreme of charges but it takes days to arrest the violent racists on the most minimal & penalty free of charges huh
