On our trip to Vermont a week or two ago, I was astounded at how many solar panels I saw. Many houses had their own arrays. My wife’s uncle had a huge set of them to power his home. I know it’s more of a necessity up there because of the rural-ness of the area, but I was still impressed.
Solar has overtaken nuclear. A decade ago it supplied 1% of the world's power. In 2025 it met three quarters of global demand growth. Almost nobody saw it coming. I spoke to Jocelyn Timperley at BBC Future about why. www.bbc.co.uk/future/artic...

Kavanaugh stops in action: ICE tackled a non-verbal kid near his school, left him with injuries requiring surgery, and then left the scene when they realized he wasn't the person they were looking for www.independent.com/2026/10/23/i...

Fuck these stupid parents. I hate sports culture. Had my five year olds in soccer this past spring, got chewed out by the opposing team’s coach because my son was playing grab-ass with kids on the other team. They. Are. Kids. None of them have the same talent. Not all of them are interested either!
They called the cops on this 3-year-old Black boy because he was kickin the white kids' ass on the soccer field.

so like, you can catch a football at a pickup game in the park, and run to the endzone, and just keep running, and run all the way to the stadium, and spike the ball in the endzone in the stadium? what does "open-world football game" even mean
EA Sports has announced that it is working on a new open-world football game that the company calls "Project Gridiron," which seems to be separate from Madden and College Football. https://bit.ly/4z63a9U
