A fun thing to do is to read a thing a politician says, quickly check Wikipedia about the subject, and then lambast the person for how stupid they are and (this is important) PARAPHRASE not QUOTE Wikipedia as evidence that you, person with a smartphone, understands everything.

I previously lambasted the man who did the thing. I did some research (I saw a post on social media) and predicted he would do the thing, and that it would be bad. Well, he did the thing and guess what? It was bad! If only I had more reach I could have saved us from the bad thing.

There is a basic truth about the way humans think that is universal, easily observed, and explains human behavior, but is ignored. We could call it the pendulum of duality.

From here the only options available to the person are to try (in vain) to outrun/distract from the pendulum, try (in vain) to stop the pendulum, or to climb up (dissociate from) the pendulum.

There is another way, however, that rarely occurs to the LLM that is the human thinking mind. Fucking look at it. Without language. The way little kids obviously can before they learn language. It’s an innate and forgotten capacity.

There is a basic truth about the way humans think that is universal, easily observed, and explains human behavior, but is ignored. We could call it the pendulum of duality.

Thoughts about how smart I am swing to fears about how stupid I am or may be perceived or accused of being. Thoughts about how attractive I am swing to thoughts about how ugly I am.

This is an incredibly stressful way to live, and almost every single human lives this way. The mind attempts to solve the problem of how to make a pendulum swing only one way. This is of course impossible.

There is a basic truth about the way humans think that is universal, easily observed, and explains human behavior, but is ignored. We could call it the pendulum of duality.

Thinking about power and control always and inevitably leads to thinking about powerlessness and victimhood, inevitably leading to more thoughts of power and control to regain the preferred feeling, leading to more paranoid thoughts about loss of control and victimhood. And so on.

Thoughts about light and love, no matter how the mind tries to perpetuate them, swing to thoughts about cruelty and darkness when the effort to maintain them dips, leading to increased effort to maintain, and harder swings back and forth.

It’s hard to believe and weird to witness the seemingly endless takes about Trump’s motives behind the Greenland (and everything else he is doing). The same folks that talk about his mind being “gone” come up with complicated and conflicting psychological evaluations trying to explain.

A software company. It is ideological madness, and no prominent voices are calling it out. Only very strong beliefs that one is fundamentally right and others are fundamentally wrong can fuel movements like this. Only convincing common people that they have been used as a means will end it.

They found in Trump someone historically easy to manipulate. They have a red banner that they use to guide the narcissist drive. The narcissism isn’t the cause here, it is a means to an end. We are fighting pop up fires, when we should just turn off the gas.

Likewise all of Trump’s other actions can be explained in the same way. Billionaires who have been shooting testosterone and taking designer drugs to stay awake and psychedelics to calm down for 20 years have decided, via Signal chats that escalated when everyone in the world was afraid during COVID

That because they were the last man standing in the tech world’s startup and pivot cultures, they are the most capable people in world history. They actually believe this. And because they believe this, they believe they can dismantle and rebuild the order of the world in the same way they rebuilt
