The phrase “generational run” has already started to lose all meaning from overuse. You’re not on a generational run because you made a good sandwich today. Robert Pattinson is making a movie about Chris Hansen, that isn’t a stop on a generational run.

You’ve all lost any ability to show range by locking yourself into this rhetorical world where everything is always the height of something. Understatement is dead. We’re on a generational run of killing nuance.

@bwieder.bsky.social hey see you’re not posting here recently. Your article today that somehow conflates completely fake polls with the difficulty in creating a solid LV model is journalistic malpractice. The quoting of Pew about nuclear subs just shows how little you actually know here.

Real survey companies intentionally include things like a question on submarine usage as a red herring and attention check. It’s literally a mechanism to clean the data. And online polls can even be representative and probabilistic, apparently something you failed to research or include.

Imagine seeing this and thinking “there should be a data center there that uses more power than the rest of the state” Fuck you Kevin O’Leary

This thread makes me understand how luddites happened. A hundred people rushing to out-dunk each other on semantics and complete irrelevancies. Tech progressing _is_ cool. I’m sure each one will no doubt pass on the da Vinci surgery they need in the future out of these same principles. 🫣

Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished a 21-kilometer (13 mile) run in Beijing in a stunning 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. https://cnn.it/4mLRxQ8

After being in the first time slot of “Drop 1” and having not a SINGLE TICKET for any event that my wife I wanted to see (and planned out our entire Olympics trip for weeks) - seeing this celebratory post from 2 months ago from one of the lead architects is just infuriating. Fuck these vultures.

Oh good. We killed the wife and mother (and obviously the father too) of the new Supreme Leader in earlier strikes. I’m sure that won’t blow back on us.

So this episode cheated me out of a Dan appearance and instead gave me Mike McClintock?! This Veep crossover is too much.

I’m logging off of this site again for a bit. My mental health cannot take arguing with what are probably astroturfed GOP accounts. Dems finally have an ounce of momentum against this regime and these people want to give it all away and just let Trump have the Sudetenland. Fuck that.

Centrist Dems are hellbent on cosplaying Neville Chamberlain - just so they can wash their hands of some temporary discomfort. Trump isn’t going to negotiate after the govt reopens. He’s going to come down harder on every single thing we hold dear. Fuck appeasement.

I didn’t support the shutdown initially because I wanted Dems to take a more grassroots approach showing how health insurance bills were going up to force Trump to act.

But now we’re in it. He won’t give Dems, or Americans, anything unless it’s dire now. It would undermine his claims that everything is perfect under Trump.

Does anyone have data on the proportion of time / media hits that cabinet secretaries are doing relative to other admins? I know it’s traditionally a part of the job, but I feel like it’s had to have gone up in this admin.

MAHA should be so proud 🤗 Now these lovely people can learn how to cure their (checks notes) asthma and atrial fibrillation with $100/month juice cleanses. But at least Mars said they might think about not using artificial dyes in M&Ms in 2 years. So you know. America is saved!

I don’t know that I’ve ever thanked my parents enough for shelling out on a Ti-84. That device was expensive as hell, but single-handedly improved my chances of getting into, and then graduating, college.

This is a good piece. Proud of MoCo moms for (likely) rejecting this cretin without even knowing the depths of her insanity. Makes me almost want to brave the state run liquor stores and move back, just to be mean to this idiot.

The moms of Montgomery County don't like Bethany Mandel because she's a jerk to trans kids, and that tells a lot about America's political realignment.

Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.

@thehill.com described this as: “Other attendees helped lay the man down on the ground and elevate his feet as reporters were being taken out of the room. Trump, who had been seated behind the Resolute Desk, stood up to watch over the guest before cameras cut out” Fucking cowards.

HOLY FUCK, AND I CANNOT STESS THIS ENOUGH, FUCK OFF. Your brand of milquetoast aplogenenzia for Kamala not supporting LGBT (especially the T) and Gaza is fucked beyond belief. I have never enjoyed “hiding for others” more than I’ve enjoyed it for you you fucking propaganda monster. Fuck off.

Mamdani has now gotten more votes than 1/4 of the members of the United States Senate did when they got elected. The political power being channeled here is immense.

Some days I wish I could have my head be this empty. Like, I could fumble a good opportunity through my own idiocy and immediately shrug it off as me being brave and frame everyone else as “tribalist”. If you’re lonely it’s because you’re giving megalomaniac energy and people shy away from that.

Tara Palmeri@tarapalmeri.bsky.social

In a world that rewards tribal loyalty and punishes dissent, true independence isn’t glamorous, it’s lonely. But it’s also essential.

Vets can’t get breast cancer any more because of a Trump memo on biological “truth”. Which seems to be, in this case, that Trump and his VA believe men don’t have breasts. SOUND REASONING. Never mind that Trump, for sure, has bigger tits than most women.

Are we winning yet? But hey at least we can dance away our worries in New Gilded Age ballroom*. (*Dancing reserved for oligarchs, tech titans who pay-to-play, and, probably, Putin).
