BREAKING: Top executives at Anthropic, OpenAI and other AI companies are privately gaming out scenarios for a public and political revolt after a catastrophic AI event, and they assume one in 2027, per Axios

look i get why tech twitter is all AI, that's where a lot of money is, yc startups are posting nonstop, and some actually really interesting innovations are happening but omg all they talk about is coding with AI, but never about what they actually build with it and it's annoying asf

yeaaaa so when are we taking grandpa to the old folks home?

bruh, idk if i can do syntax anymore.... only ai.. and scott is more morally conflicted with a slop fork than racism in tech... fuck o-march-y

i have projects that are ai free, and those are my favorite projects i will admit i use / lean on agents a lot, and its very helpful in ways and hindering in others trying to find a balance

If you think you’re alone in being miserable about being Claude‘s condom, you’re not www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/c... Once you get past the loud minority — those who are dead behind the eyes, but smiling for the cameras — no one who is forced to use LLMs all day is happy in this industry

Digital Ocean ended their $50/month sponsorship of GNOME and FlatHub and went radio silent on CSS-Tricks right around the time they found a spare three million dollars to burn on “sponsoring” a high-profile racist’s dotfiles repo. Impossible to see this as anything but a statement of their values.

good litmus test for coding is if i'd have to turn off my music to work on some piece of code llms cannot be trusted to fuck with that section of the code

i saw a post where someone said, why not jist make kids phones that cant install apps instead of enforcing digital ids... also, parents, stop giving your kids tech too early...

i don't see any solution to the ai risk problem than mass accessibility to ai if they're going to be around potentially causing damage then everyone needs to have ai defending them this is how cyber security works, we rely on the fact that there's more good guys than bad

You want to know why your thing sucks now? There's a 50/50 chance it is secretly a web browser and site for no good reason instead of a real computer program. I don't know why we've turned many things that should not be web dev into web dev, but here we are.

popOS has been doing it for years...

At system76 we had a different vision for the Linux desktop - in particular at the DE level - how to design it, how to develop it. So we built it. That's it. No insults or drama. The year of the Linux desktop is coming. And it will be thanks to the efforts of the entire Linux desktop community.
