One of the most important financial stories out there if you want to know how and why the same five evil guys wind up owning everything.

You can do the same thing, buying a house and borrowing against it—ha ha, just kidding, normal people get taxed annually on their wealth via property taxes, the "you can't tax wealth, the economy will collapse!" rule applies solely to the super-rich.

Steven T. Dennis@steventdennis.bsky.social

For the fabulously wealthy, paying taxes is pretty much optional. They can borrow against their vast wealth, which is mostly an untaxed capital gain, without paying taxes. When they die, the capital gain goes to zero. And loopholes exist to bypass the estate tax too.

There is an international, well-connected network of fascists promoting far-right candidates in elections (and coups) across the world. The guy who owns the site Yglesias posted this on is one of their leaders. Be careful of people advocating for their opponents to disarm!

Dan Mauler 🎃@meelar.bsky.social

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

70 percent of the internet was vulnerable yesterday to very bad security flaws inside a coding language. Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...

There's going to be a very specific type of Armored Core fan on here who will be super pissed at this.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE DRAGON AGE KEEP FOR DAI? EA runs the servers. It is unknown how long they will keep them up for. If you are not tech savvy, please make a save TODAY with your favorite worldstate to go back to. PC and PS players have a workaround. See this thread: bsky.app/profile/ghil...

Caitie@ghildirthalen.bsky.social

The latest update on 'How to bypass the Dragon Age Keep in case it goes down'! - PC saves are easily edited with a save editor, and so far are reported to be working as intended. - PS users have the method below which does require a computer to edit, but it's something! - Xbox... we dont know 😬

Watching this industry over the last 15 years has been so painful. The closest thing we have to a universal recipe for making great games is keeping teams together over time, and letting them cook. _Teams_. Of _people_. Seemingly nobody in NA games leadership has ever valued or understood this

Max Nichols@maxnichols.bsky.social

You know what Nintendo does when they have a surplus set of devs from cancellations or production ending? Put them on other projects. The ability to redeploy headcount while keeping teams together over time is like, the main strategic benefit of scale in the game industry

I’m not reposting it, but the website TF-Direct has put up a photo of Studio Series Optimus Prime posed into the shape of a swastika Absolutely disgusting There’s no ambiguity or nuance to stuff like this - it’s just awful, and it has zero place in the Transformers fandom

A few years ago I started reading Chris Claremont's legendary run on X-Men. The 70s stories were very fun, charming and even heart-breaking, and I've gotten to know these characters in ways I didn't know them before. So of course I had to draw something! More closeups below 👇

The Bluesky devs are some of the most spineless chuds out there. They can't even share platform updates on their own platform because they know that the people who already use their platform HATE all of their stupid ideas. So instead, they go to cesspool dot shit and show it off there.

Hey @bsky.app @support.bsky.team, can you explain this? Cause the fact that you first posted this on Twitter and not here is VERY telling
