It’s the billionaire class vs. the working class, and on Tuesday, November 2nd, you get to choose which side you’re on.

If you know you want public schools to be a public good, if you're tired of endless AI ads, if you're still trying to decide who to vote for in Chicago's school board race, I highly recommend this guide!

If you live in Cook County, there's a referendum on your November ballot asking if they should bring back AI surveillance microphones. I'm voting NO and so should you!

tiktok.comThere's a referendum on the ballot for Cook County voters asking about ShotSpotter, which would put AI microphones all around our city. We already got rid of this garbage two years ago thanks to #stop...TikTok video by Sunjay in Uptown

In Chicago, in 21 months, the AI-powered gunshot detection technology ShotSpotter generated more than 40,000 “dead-end police deployments” 89% of ShotSpotter deployments resulted in no gun-related crime But the tool did cause the fatal police shooting of 13-year-old Adam Toledo.

These protections for tenants are HUGE! The RLTO has been an important backstop these past few decades but these modernizations are long overdue.

Chicago is the largest American city without a centralized system to uphold dignified living conditions, just cause for eviction protections, and a dedicated office to promote housing stability for renters. It’s long past time that changes.

This is still missing two important pieces (which are in ILGA's corner). First is to #LiftTheBan on rent regulation at the state level so municipalities can pass meaningful legislation to prevent displacement.

These protections for tenants also complement the regulatory modernizations in the #BUILD plan. When we talk about needing an all-of-the-above approach to addressing the housing crisis, this is what we're talking about!

With the weather warming up, we're expecting to see an increase in ICE activity. Now is a great time to get involved with your local ICE/Migrawatch network - we need all hands on deck to keep each other safe!

Back in Uptown, I biked passed where I had passed out flyers earlier in the day for North Uptown Neighbors Association's upcoming neighborhood cleaning day. I had several conversations with neighbors who were excited for the opportunity to take care of each other and our neighborhood.

This sort of local, block by block community care is just as crucial for building a Chicago that works for everyone as broader electoral and policy change. I hope to see many of you there and around the neighborhood this summer!

Afterward, I took a long bike ride up the lakeshore path back to Uptown. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, though the wind was in my face the whole time. (I've heard the wind gradients called "Dutch hills" in the past, but I think we can also call them "Chicago hills" as the windy city.)

That includes mental health clinics in all 50 wards, designed with services that are tailored to the needs of each community. For example in Chinatown, language access is a huge barrier to mental health access, particularly for Chinese American seniors. Our elders deserve accessible care!

In the afternoon I headed down to Bridgeport with Asian Americans Advancing Justice - Chicago to talk to neighbors about #TreatmentNotTrauma. We collected signatures demanding alders sign on to a plan to ensure free mental health services are available to all Chicagoans.

In 2026, we're also experiencing intense attacks on our immigrant communities, including resumed ICE raids where multiple of our neighbors were kidnapped yesterday. Today's march is an important reminder that immigrant rights are workers rights, and our struggles are one struggle.

This year marks 20 years since El Día Sin Inmigrantes. On May 1st, 2006, there was a country-wide boycott by immigrants led by Mexican and Chicano workers organizations. 400000 people protested in Chicago!

The polls are open for Election Day! Punch #74 to vote for Sunjay Kumar for IL House District 13. Let’s send a community organizer who is invested in systemic change and social justice to Springfield! Learn more about Sunjay’s platform at sunjayforillinois.com or check out our socials!

My campaign has also received endorsements from grassroots organizations with steadfast commitments to social and economic equality! Many of these organizations are where I got my start as a community organizer. I can't wait to bring the same energy to Springfield!

I'm grateful that my campaign has been endorsed by progressive champions that I've long looked up to! Some of my first experiences with state and local campaigns were for these now-elected officials. I look forward to continuing to work with them as we build a more just system that works for all.

Hi friends! I’ve had this conversation several times today with people who recently moved here, and it’s important to know: People can register same day at all early voting locations!

You need two pieces of identification - one with your current address (can be a utility bill or lease) and one with your face (can be a driver's license or passport or active student id). You DO NOT have to have an Illinois ID as long as you have that proof of address.

I’m happy to share that our campaign has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood Illinois Action! Reproductive freedom is a personal topic for me. As State Representative, I will work to ensure the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare is affordable and accessible for all.

I am fighting to keep healthcare available and accessible to marginalized communities because no one deserves to be sacrificed. Now is the time to stand up for the rights of undocumented immigrants and the queer and trans communities, not back down to the Trump agenda.

Do you want to make Illinois a stronger progressive state where immigrants and LGBTQ+ communities thrive? Join us in Rogers Park to propel Sunjay Kumar to the state legislature! You’ll meet Sunjay and learn about our fight for a progressive future in Illinois. Sign up at bit.ly/power2sunjay !

We’re excited to endorse @sunjayforillinois.com for the Illinois State House D-13! A public servant and community leader, Sunjay is committed to strengthening local services, investing in infrastructure, and building safer, more inclusive neighborhoods.

I'm fighting for the people that make this neighborhood so great. We need stronger protections immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks and abortion access. We need better funding for housing, healthcare, public schools and public transit. And we can do that when corporations and billionaires pay their fair share.
