Every anti-vaxxer I encounter seems to love weird unregulated supplements. They hate Big Pharma but they love Little Pharma, Big Pharmaโ€™s younger sibling who grew up without any adult supervision.

read this book in less than 2 sittings. In my top 10 of all time no question. what a riveting glimpse into 2 women who no doubt changed India. Roy brings you into her world and the world of her mother.

โ€œThis book pules with compassion and moral outrage.โ€ โ€“ @wsj A raw and deeply moving memoir that traces the complex relationship of Arundhati Roy with her mother, Mary Roy, a formidable force who shaped Arundhatiโ€™s life both as a woman and a writer. Now available: https://bit.ly/442NjdH

Trump nominated a legit white nationalist to a top post at the State Department. I asked him some basic questions about his belief in the โ€œerasure of white cultureโ€. Watch this embarrassing, fumbling answer. Like he has never before been asked to explain his views.

unfortunately, as i listen to 2 min of the Noem press conf I dont put it beyond this admin to manufacture a crisis once the gov shuts down cause they couldn't get everything their way. noem mentioned cyber security and electrical grid vulnerabities. everything they say is a clue.

this is a very cool thing to do and also highlights one of the biggest keys to Zohran's appeal: he just thinks New York City is really neat people who live somewhere want to vote for someone who likes it there and wants to make it better, not someone who wants to use it as a springboard

Itโ€™s your city, from the sidewalk to the skyline. The David Dinkins Municipal Buildingโ€™s rooftop is open & free to everyone, starting this June.

JUST IN: Democrats flip a red seat in the Texas Senate. Taylor Rehmet wins against Leigh Wambsganss, a conservative activist who helped lead right-wing efforts to take over TX school boards. With all early vote, and 95% of precincts, in, Dem up 57/43. Trump won this seat by 17% in Tarrant County.

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

interesting to watch ppls reaction to the epstein files. I believe the prominent guys named in them are guilty AF. whether they are guilty of each specific detail is irrelevant. yall they are dudes with way too much $. THATS IT. also who knows if we'll ever know the full list

I'm so mentally exhausted. Got invited to a networking event and was like yeah no I need like at min 72 hrs notice so I can prepare myself to show up and actually be ready to talk to people about work, after work. Good Lord

Judge Boasberg: โ€œthe Court ultimately determines that the Governmentโ€™s actions on that day demonstrate a willful disregard for its Order, sufficient for the Court to conclude that probable cause exists to find the Government in criminal contempt.โ€

This entire rundown is depressing. Cause it continues to prove what so many of us already know but what some ppl still don't grasp. There is no due process in America anymore & trying to undo intense harm if you caught up in this shit is going to be very slow, cause the govt can ignore courts now

Anna Bower@annabower.bsky.social

HAPPENING NOW: At the federal courthouse in Greenbelt, Maryland, Judge Paula Xinis is set to begin a hearing on the governmentโ€™s efforts โ€“ or lack thereof โ€“ to โ€œfacilitateโ€ the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident who was wrongly removed to El Salvador. Follow along for updates โฌ‡๏ธ

I mean yeah, exactly

Constituents to Chuck Grassley: "Are you bringing back that guy from El Salvador?" Senior Citizen: โ€œIf I get an order to pay a ticket to pay $1200 and I just say โ€˜noโ€™, does that stand up? Because he just got an order from the Supreme Court and he just said โ€˜screw itโ€™โ€ โ€œIโ€™M PISSED!โ€

I'm so ashamed of my alma mater University of Michigan particularly after seeing Harvard stand up for things and I hate giving Harvard credit for anything ! Michigan had close to a $20 BILLION endowment in 2024 and they caved on dei before a letter came. What cowards

I think the degeneracy and cowardice of american elites is more to blame though. Trump properly perceived large swaths of the elites on both sides of the aisle believed in nothing and would fold at the first sign of pressure.

On a day when the administrationโ€™s conduct hit stunning new lows, itโ€™s really important to see institutions like Harvard (represented by major law firms) stepping up to fight back

Niko Bowie@nikobowie.bsky.social

BREAKING: On Friday, the federal government issued new demands of Harvard University. The university's lawyers just responded: back off.

I really don't think Target thought this would go on for this long for them. They really made the wrong business decision & are paying for it

The divergence here from two companies with *very* similar customer bases is pretty wild, you do not see this sort of thing happen at scale very often.

I have not shopped at target since 2024 and have no intention of shopping there again even if they reverse their stance this year suddenly. It would take years for me to consider giving the brand my $ ever again

This is pretty smart by the Canadians. Encourage tourism at home as everyone cancels their trip to the US

Call me skeptical, but I don't think putting a pause on retaliatory tariffs on Saint Pierre and Miquelon, The Falkland Islands, Fiji, Norfolk Island, and Chad is going to counteract the over 100% retaliatory tariffs on our biggest trading partner, China. Seems the markets are being a bit silly.

I'll believe it when it happens. The "plans"part means nothing to me. I need to see Dems DO.

Breaking: Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he plans to place a hold on ALL Trump nominees going forward. This will force Republicans to hold individual votes to override each hold, which will severely slow down their agenda. ๐Ÿ”—: www.axios.com/newsletters/...

The idea that prison conditions needed to be harsh to punish crime was always a sick fantasy that eroded our collective rights. Now that due process is *officially* being abandoned, itโ€™s another demonstration that all those supposedly far-left radical ideas were common sense and necessary.

The amazing thing is despite this woman enabling absolutely illegal and unconstitutional activity, I still think she should get due process and a day in court when this country wakes tf up. she doesn't really deserve it but she should get it as someone in America.

Olga Nesterova@onestpress.onestnetwork.com

Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador

Some days I really have to remind myself despite everything I'm still insanely lucky. I grew up with so many advantages that gave way to do many advantages in adulthood. A lot of the security I have now in life is a a direct result of things I had no control over.

I work hard, sure, but not harder than a lot of people and I'm def not any more deserving of the things I have than others. We all need to remind ourselves of that every single day and pay it forward however we can.

Can we stop calling these atrocities "deportations." These people sold to El Salvadorian prisons were not deported. Deportation is a process that did not take place. They were rounded up and removed with no process. They were kidnapped, not deported.

This is genuinely terrifying and everyone in the country should know

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

Tonight we learned that it was indeed Andry, the gay man sent to El Salvador because of his โ€œmomโ€ and โ€œdadโ€ tattoos, who an American journalist saw sobbing as guards slapped him repeatedly and shaved his head. He is an innocent. And Trump sent him to a torture prison. Bring them back!

Another week where we all go to work on Monday and pretend like the country isn't totally cratering... Unless you are working in specific sectors or bringing law suits against this admin...

I stumbled upon this absolutely delightful collection of essays by Sayantani Gupta at a bookstore in Asheville. Since my dad passed I miss all the books he would send in the mail, many of them featuring South Asian authors and I'm positive he would have sent this one along.

This is part of the big manufacturing lie: that people can get jobs with no education or training just wielding screwdrivers. Apple cannot make iPhones in the US without an army of tooling engineers, and we donโ€™t even have the tooling engineers here to educate an army of tooling engineers.
