look i may not be by any means a developer but what openutau is doing is incredibly stupid. the beta releases were fine before. they almost never had bugs. now they're so unstable they shouldn't even have the right to be called betas.

my stance on vibecoding (unrelated to its ethics) is that if you're gonna do it, you have to make sure every line of slop you push is exactly what you think it is. i get the feeling the openutau team is not being nearly careful enough.

also we were robbed of getting an english concatenative vocaloid of adachi rei because v6 crosslingual synthesis was less work to develop. that would've actually been cool unlike another engine that smooths out the harsh sonic qualities that make her voice so beautiful.

i do want to make it clear that this is not an attack on ai voicebanks or the people who enjoy them tho. some of my favorite singers are ai such as coko, kafu, teto, kevin, chis-a and yi xi. like whatever voicebanks you want, just please use the real software

they were a really cool novelty but the fact that everything that comes out has to be ai voicebanks now is sad. im tired of seeing classic characters get revived as a generic synth v voicebanks.
