Dear friends, I'm rejoining Redis. It's a long story, so it deserved a blog post to explain all the details: antirez.com/news/144

This year #GivingTuesday falls on December 3rd, which is also my birthday! 🎂 To celebrate, I'm giving away five free "floating head" avatars and donating 50% of all illustration orders placed between now and 12/3! Share this post to enter the giveaway! reverentgeek.com/shop/
Debugging a bug in Redis OM #python last week. I encountered this odd situation where the defaults for child classes using pydantic v2 models were being ignored, and instead was defaulting to the type we use to intercept lambda's for forming queries to Redis. I found a workaround, but this feels 1/
For those who celebrate. Not that I’ve had 30 consecutive free minutes where I’ve had the mental faculties to sit down with my SteamDeck since my second kid was born 😂.

The first iteration of my Bluesky bot - the one behind the @javabubble.bsky.social - is now available on GitHub! Anyone can easily spin up a similar bot that reposts and follows based on a list of tags. Ironically, it's built in Kotlin 😅 github.com/raphaeldelio... #Kotlin #bolhatech #Java

With Redis 8, there is a return on investing in the community edition (the code you just download from Github), probably what made this possible is the license change. Anyway interesting new features / improvements: redis.io/blog/redis-8...
TIL in RediSearch, if you are running an FT.AGGREGATE with a SORTBY, if you apply no MAX, it will only sort the first 10 records. github.com/redis/redis-... One of the really neat things about RediSearch is that it makes you really think about how you're querying your data in #redis.

I really like @jetbrains.com's products, but something mildly annoying, frequently when my mac goes to sleep and I wake it back up my IDE's are frozen and need to be force-quit, e.g. just woke my mac up and Pycharm and RustRover were frozen. Anyone else seen something like this?
Anyone else notice that X isn’t anywhere in the top 100 domain rankings anymore? radar.cloudflare.com/domains Twitter is in the top 200 (used to be mid 30s a year ago), X appears somewhere between 500 and 200. Wonder if the combined unit would have given up any ground
Late to the party, but this has to be one of the most impressive things I’ve seen from a musician. Chad Smith (of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame) completely improvising a brilliant drum part to “The Kill” about 10 meters into the song. youtu.be/HMBRjo33cUE?...
