Started an addiction with Old School RuneScape. I vaguely remember playing when I was younger for like a few hours but never fully got into it. I can see why people love this game and I’m only in the beginning. ⚔️

Sadly, starting season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen. Bittersweet to always reach the latest/last season of a show knowing it may end soon. What I haven’t done is pickup the manga which I always hear it’s nice to read vs watch.

I’ve been going the distance with this running habit the last 6 months and checked the scale! Post run I measured at 179lb! Earlier in April I was peaking 195lb with all that Haagen Daz Green Tea ice cream 😋😂 I still enjoy my treats honestly.

I feel like the NBA season is going to be a wild toss on who makes it to the finals next year because players are moving. It's getting really, really interesting and I've never been more excited for the game of basketball.

I'm behind on my duties here. But, I'm very excited to hit the road next month! Being behind the wheel has always been the place I've felt most comfortable.

Dialing into training for the next 15 weeks for a 10K race. Might be overkill but I’m enjoying the process. As a side note, due to all the training, I lost 10 pounds in two months. Didn’t go on any special diet so it probably could have been more 🤷🏽‍♂️. Overall, let’s get it.

Day 0 of #RubyConf26 prep complete today. Tomorrow is Day 1! Pretty awesome view from just outside the registration desk. If you find me, say Howdy! 👋🏽 as I am a volunteer for this years conference.

Time to tackle the intimidating feature of VS Code: Debugging functionality. The debugging lesson for Ruby in The Odin Project is something I may go back to every now and then and actually go bit deeper in the additional resources section.

Set out a goal 9 weeks ago to hit a 5K under 30 minutes, and I fucking did it! LFG!! But, I want to push myself, so, shooting for a 10K in 12+ weeks, and eventually, a marathon in 2027.

There is something unique about the Ruby community especially as of this year. Seems to be a resurgence/growth spurt on conferences and meetups, or maybe I just haven’t been paying attention. Can’t wait to meet folks in the Ruby world IRL at RubyConf!!

Hit my second fastest 5K time the other day without an all out effort and feeling good for hitting under 30 minutes for the event this Saturday! I’m coming up on Week 9 of training + event this weekend, and it’s been an awesome journey sticking with a training plan. I post on my IG account

We are doing this!!!

Save the date, mark your calendars, and decline the invite to the All Hands meeting! The second edition of SF Ruby Conference is happening Nov 10-12. Our first confirmed keynote speaker is @realgarrytan.bsky.social, president and CEO of Y Combinator and longtime Rails builder.

OFFICIALLY!! Beginning the Full Stack Ruby on Rails path on The Odin Project 🔥. Which means I completed the Foundations path. 5 years ago I attempted the program and gave up because my brain couldn’t handle JS back then but it feels good to know a little more everyday.

My goal is to build cool apps and become a maintainer for an open source project one day. Maybe Lichess or something the peaks my interest within Ruby.

Halfway through Week 2 of 8 of training and my mind and body is on a natural happy high. I haven’t felt good about training in a long time, and it feels good to work towards a goal and not have to think about planning at all. Planning to give a review of the Runna app in a few weeks.

To hit the last project in the Foundations track for The Odin Project feels amazing! Not one I'd put on my resume, but the project is a calculator app. Looking to build on the foundational skills I've learned so far, and next steps are to start Ruby soon.

Today’s workout was seriously an “Easy run” which is a pace I’ve never truly done. I used that time to practice my form of running which is something I’ve never done before. As I get older I realize how much I prefer to just follow a plan that’s given to me vs build it myself. 🏃🏽 #roadto5K

Downloaded the Runna app. Goal is to run a 5K in under 30 minutes by July 5th!

Hoping to blind you with light mode 😂 about 93% with The Odin Project foundations path, and stoked to be starting the Ruby on Rails path in a couple of weeks.
