The House voted to condemn “socialism” earlier this week. Listen, I’ve been in and around politics for over 50 years. I grew up during McCarthyism and the “red Scare” of the 1950s. I’ve seen all of this fear-mongering before. Here’s what’s really going on.

If you have questions about trumps executive order regarding mail-in ballots, this is a great and somewhat reassuring break down. Thanks @marcelias.bsky.social

NEW EPISODE: In a major win for free and fair elections, a federal judge blocked the U.S. Postal Service from enforcing key parts of Donald Trump’s anti-mail voting order. In this episode, I break down this critical ruling and how it will impact the midterm elections. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-V7T...

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

A new study shows that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and over $1 trillion every year. The new research out of Yale shows that reductions in administrative overhead, lower pharmaceutical prices, less fraudulent billing, and fewer emergency care trips would lead to huge savings. /1

These hero dogs chased off a man who tried to sexually assault two female dog walkers. They were able to push him away, and then their pack of 11 rescue dogs ran him off into a tunnel and ripped off a piece of his pants. The dogs are all getting our highest honor, a 15/10

The wealthy can't help themselves, they'll just keep taking and taking. We must tax wealth, there is no good reason to allow billionaires to exist.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice. It doesn't have to be this way.

This is just like the tobacco industry. They knew it was harmful but didn’t care. The AI companies already know the risks & side effects. They have them buried somewhere in a report. So what health impacts would be unexpected?

The richest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% of stocks. The richest 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks. It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.

With Obama back in the news expressing shock that Trump won, liberals are still telling themselves a lie in order to pretend turning hope & change into more of the same didn't ignite the backlash that fueled MAGA's ascent. Somehow, Democrats still seem unwilling to learn from the cautionary tale.

What’s one way we can rein in ICE? We can start by boycotting ICE’s corporate collaborators that are profiting from the agency’s cruelty. Watch.

Medicare for All would save $450B a year. Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity. Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall. It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford. It’s about priorities.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives. We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

The congressional switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. Put it in your cell phone. Use it. If you're not calling at least once a week, you're not doing your part.

The term universal health care is not accurate regarding changing our current system. It's universal health insurance. Under a single payer, medicare for all system, it's only the insurance component that is a government program. The health care, doctors, hospitals, etc remain in the private sector.

So we the tax payers, subsidize the private for-profit health insurance industry. Seems like we could just take that tax money and pay for the care directly instead of sending it to the insurance companies to leach out their cut. We need public health insurance now.

A little secret to happiness. Turn off the podcast and turn on some music. Not always, podcasts can provide great information but music can change your day. I find especially during commutes, music is the way.

Sometimes artists/musicians have a hard time evaluating their own work. When asked if it's good, they are asking because they can't tell, likely too involved to have perspective. Best way to answer is honestly, even if they are little hurt, it's a huge help in improving.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave. Tell them: 1. Vote NO on Cloture AND 2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill. Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it. TODAY is the showdown. 🤳🏽: (202) 224-3121

It's beyond frustrating to watch Democrats in power complain they can't do anything because they're in the minority like we all didn't just watch Mitch McConnell continue to find ways to derail Dem efforts on key bills when Republicans were in the minority.
