Bluesky works differently than Twitter in some important ways. One of them is that hashtags are kind of not a thing, but feeds and lists are in! We created this Colorado News & Politics list to help Centennial Staters find each other on Bluesky and keep up with Colorado News!
Race raters are moving this race in our favor AGAIN! Our momentum on the ground is clear to everyone– we can and will make history on November 3rd. All that's left now is to get out the vote!!!
Sounds pretty rosy BUT we cannot afford to be complacent.
We need every Democratic vote cast and counted.
PEDAL TO THE METAL FOLKS!
Moo!

If you're Advance Colorado, you are likely shitting your pants because you were probably expecting more like a D+15 or so environment (closer to 2022) but right now our model shows a low end D+20.73 advantage compared with a high end D+29.5 advantage when you model unaffiliateds (avg=D+25.11)
"A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women."
Yes the Cenk Uygur ad is antisemitic, yes it is transphobic, but it’s the *interaction effect* between the antisemitism and the transphobia that causes it to give off so many Hitler particles
Coloradans have returned about 35.74% of the ~2.7 million or so expected ballots for this election so far, and the modeled partisanship of the electorate is bonkers. Our ballots returned model shows Democrats with a 25.11% advantage when you use model scores to sort the Unaffiliated voters into D/R.
Now, the Score You've Been Waiting For, CD4 the district Lauren Boebert ran to after fleeing CD3 is drawn as an R+24. Boebert wildly underperformed the fundamentals (and Trump) and still won by 11.6 in 2024. Our model shows a likely R+11 turnout right now, with the D Lean scenario at a mere R+1.07
This means Laubacher will need a decent number of Republicans and a shitload of right-leaning Unaffiliated voters to skip the line or vote Blue, both of which we could actually see happening. Boebert underperformed in 2024 by ~13, a similar underperformance with these returns means it's a race.

CD3, the district Lauren Boebert abandoned after her close-call near loss in 2022 is blinking blue on all three of our models right now, begging national money to come in and topple Jeff Hurd, but it might not even matter, because conservative unaffilateds just seem to be sitting out this one so far
Friend of the pod Jessica Killin and her massive turnout operation are going to make the difference in CD5, with the median model showing an R+5.68 electorate at the moment, the D Lean showing D+6.11, and the average at D+0.22, we still think she's favored. Crank (R-incumbent) won by 13.8 in 2024.

Down at the congressional level, all of the Dem incumbents are safe, and folks like Crow and Pettersen in the burbs who normally win by 15-20 are on track to win by 20-25+, Neguse and Kiros in the cities/college/mountain towns are going to put up Kim Jong Un numbers without getting out of bed.
Things are getting really interesting in all four GOP congressional districts. We are now predicting that Manny Rutinel has CD8 locked in with a median model score of D+11.67 and a D Lean potential of, and this is insane to even write down, D+22.11. We think final results will be closer to D+7.

The statewide numbers are even crazier when you realize that Denver is either voting or counting extremely slowly, CD1 having returned 86k ballots so far, the LOWEST IN THE STATE compared to the district with the highest turnout so far (CD4, Boebert/Laubacher) at 145k. Just on reg, Dems are +7.83 rn

Quincy Institute platforming Joe Kent and I gotta ask, all prior feelings aside, why these guys, an ostensibly prog foreign policy think tank, platforming the guy who ran to the right of fucking MGP
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
These people don’t want to win; they don’t even want to persuade. They want a world where they are a pure and rarified elite, with none of the responsibilities of actual power, only the smug gratification of being right.
Median rent as a share of median income of renter households in major U.S. metros, 2010 vs. 2024.
Minneapolis is lowest on the list, at 29%, down from 30.4% in 2010.

Whenever anyone asks why Colorado flipped from red to purple to so fucking blue that Republicans are incapable of winning a statewide election, we're just going to show them this
Makework for a bunch of shifty lawyers who need to resurface their driveways or upgrade their vacation homes. Suckers and losers will spend unlimited dark money to try to deny the people a vote on tax fairness in Colorado. They lost once. They'll lose again and again and again.
the reason you issue preemptive mass pardons is to reassure junior staff who are shitting themselves that they’re safe and they don’t have to flip on you.
going to be very important to push back on their validity, which is nil, preemptively also

Showing this post to anyone who tries to engagement bait on "vOtiNg dOeSn't do aNyThiNG". Rep. Omar is being personally targeted with the full force of the federal government directed by the President of the United States, and she's telling us it matters. It fucking matters.

Gabe Evans misled us about his ICE policies–claiming one thing to voters while backing something entirely different.
We can't trust a congressman who won't level with us.
Call Gabe Evans at (202) 225-5625. Tell him Colorado deserves the truth, not political games. #copolitics
This person is a violent lunatic who has no business getting anywhere near our ballots or our kids. Fuck all the way off, and vote NO on horrible propositions 133, 134 and 135. Please.

"That's how we'll do it! Instead of having coaches inspect student athletes underpants, we'll just...force a blood draw and a five figure genetic test on every student! That'll do it!"
The co-founder of a group pushing a ballot measure to ban trans athletes from sports in Colorado says that, if passed, the measure should be enforced by mandatory genetic testing of all student athletes before they can sign up to play sports.

WOW! A few months ago, people were still saying this race was impossible to win. Now, we are pulling ahead, but we cannot take anything for granted. Polls mean nothing if we don't vote like our livelihoods depend on it, so make a plan and vote early!
"Natural gas" is a marketing term. An admittedly brilliant one-but that's what it is. It's mostly methane, a very polluting greenhouse gas. So why did Colorado's title board allow a marketing term into a constitutional ballot initiative? Amendment 82 gives methane constitutional protection. Vote no.
