Speaking of MGS4 hype, GT was a DAILY visit specifically to watch every single piece of video they had on the game. Pre-YouTube. No ads. No content creators stroking their egos on camera. Just excitement for the game.

I hope every never-owned-a-PS3 person on here is playing the heck out of MGS4 this week. Despite your feelings on the cutscenes and odd pacing I cannot overstate the insane hype cycle that lead up to its release, from the very first teaser to that masterpiece 15 min trailer to the game itself.

Can’t think of a better example of late stage capitalism than turning the incredibly popular “Here Is Why Rich People Are Miserly Bastards Whose Only Road To Redemption Is Giving Away Their Wealth” story into “But What If The Rich People Are Just Misunderstood?” story
